Tonight we are tasting a wine from Croatia. We will be reviewing the 2018 Vina Skaramuca Plavac Mali, which is grown along the Dalmatian Coast on the southern part of Croatia. This wine has a gorgeous ruby color with excellent clarity. On the nose, there is nothing but dirt, plums, and blueberries. Its intensely long finish is rounded off nicely with some herbaceous undertones, medium tannins, and well-balanced acidity. The alcohol content is on the higher side at 13%, so you are going to need to pair this with some meat, like a pot roast or some steak and creamy potatoes. If you are not a carnivore, you can have a beautiful pairing with some mushroom risotto. If you are a fan of Zinfandel, then you will definitely enjoy Plavac Mali.
