In this episode, there is a run through of how services are delivered and the stakeholders who are and should be involved in these processes. It should give you some perspective on the tensions that arise as a result of tenders, B-BBEE and lack of delivery. I raise some questions that may resonate with listeners, and should be considered when assessing political party manifestos.
I grew up living in flats and town houses, which is the new normal for a lot of kids. This episode is about living in high density areas and what I’d like politicians to address during the local elections, based on my experiences.
Local elections are 5 weeks away, hopefully you’ve registered to vote at least. Voter turnout has been in decline for a number of years. Many of us feel that the political parties are out of touch, so why should we go vote? This episode is about how you are affected by politics. It's the first episode of a series that will look at the manifestos of the political parties to understand how they intend to help you and I in our day to day lives.
One of our values at Wilacey is Humility. Our mission is to empower women in rural areas and women who are entrepreneurs in urban areas by enabling them to take part in the formal economy.
Should we be inspired by the act or the actor? I give my take on this, while you quickly use the loo.
Welcome to What Will it Take (WWiT). A podcast directly related to my blog of the same name, which can be found on WordPress (wilacey.wordpress.com/). I founded my business, Wilacey, in the pursuit of what I could do as an individual to contribute to economic development in my home country, South Africa. Wilacey aspires to bring the global market to women in rural parts of South Africa. Making technology instrumental to just and sustainable economic development. The solution to the problem here is quite clear, realizing the solution has become a different ball game. WWiT will find out why, and how to overcome the challenges in implementing the solutions from the shared experiences of people who are doing the work too.
