  • Ark Mines advances Sandy Mitchell Project with significant rare earth and mineral sands potential
Ark Mines Executive Director Ben Emery joined Steve Darling from Proactive’s OTC studio in New York City to discuss the company’s progress at its Sandy Mitchell project, a flagship mineral sands and rare earth venture. The project boasts a maiden resource of 71.8 million tons and an exploration target of 1.3 to 1.5 billion tons, making it a potentially globally significant asset.
Sandy Mitchell contains a diverse mix of valuable minerals, including zircon, ilmenite, and garnet, as well as rare earth elements such as monazite, which hosts 15 of the 17 known rare earths. A scoping study last year projected the project could generate $25–$30 million in free cash annually. Ark Mines is now advancing towards a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) in 2025, with a goal of expanding the JORC resource to 350 million tons and extending the mine life to 15 years.
The company is also strengthening its US partnerships to support a domestic supply chain from Australia to the United States for critical minerals. With a mining license application underway, Ark Mines anticipates transitioning into mine planning within 12 months, positioning itself as a key player in the global rare earth and mineral sands market.

  • American Rare Earths’ updated scoping study confirms world-class rare earths project
American Rare Earths CEO Chris Gibbs joined Steve Darling from Proactive’s OTC studio in New York City to announce the results of the company’s Updated Scoping Study for the Halleck Creek Rare Earths Project in Wyoming. The study reaffirms the project’s robust financial performance, scalability, and strategic importance as the only large-scale rare earths project in the United States with a clear path to production, positioning ARR to secure a domestic, tariff-free supply of critical minerals for U.S. and allied markets. The Updated Scoping Study outlines two development scenarios including 3 Million Tonnes Per Annum with a Net Present Value (NPV10%) of US$558 million, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 24%, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) of US$456 million and a Payback period of 2.7 years.
Gibbs told also shared the second being 6 Million Tonnes Per Annum (Mtpa) Case with a NPV10% of US$1.171 billion, IRR of 28.4%, CAPEX of US$737 million, Payback period of 1.8 years
Gibbs also highlighted the success of recent large-scale metallurgical test work, which achieved a tenfold increase in rare earth concentration. Using commercially proven MG12 Spirals and Induced Roll Magnetic Separation (IRMS) technology, the company upgraded mineralized feedstock from 3,438 ppm (0.34%) TREO to approximately 37,200 ppm (3.72%) TREO. This significant increase means that only 6.5% of the mined ore requires further refining, substantially reducing processing volumes and operational costs.
The large-scale test program validates the assumptions outlined in the company’s initial Scoping Study and reinforces the project’s potential for scalable, cost-efficient production of rare earth elements. Gibbs emphasized that these results, combined with the recent increase in the project's JORC Resource estimate, strengthen the long-term viability of Halleck Creek. ARR plans to release an Updated Scoping Study shortly, incorporating these advancements and solidifying Halleck Creek’s position as a cornerstone of the U.S. rare earths supply chain.

  • Trigg Minerals confirms high-grade Antimony and Tungsten at Wild Cattle Creek
Trigg Minerals Executive Chairman Timothy Marrision joined Steve Darling from Proactive’s OTC studio in New York City to announce the discovery of high-grade antimony and tungsten mineralization beneath the primary Wild Cattle Creek deposit. The company has just starting trading on the OTCQB market under the symbol TMGLF. Paterson said recent assays at Wild Cattle Creek confirmed grades of 2.14% tungsten (Hole 10WRD16) and 27.6% antimony (Hole 10WRD16W), with a parallel structure averaging 13% antimony and 1.03% tungsten.
Morrison highlighted that drilling results indicate an underlying gold system and significant mineral enrichment within the stockwork alteration of the Wild Cattle Creek deposit. This discovery suggests that further exploration could unlock additional value, similar to known deposits such as Hillgrove and Costerfield.
The identification of tungsten within the deposit opens the door for expanded drilling programs targeting tungsten-rich zones. Trigg Minerals is also considering resource re-estimation to incorporate tungsten and gold as by-products, pending further drilling results. Additionally, the company plans to re-evaluate metallurgical recovery processes to optimize tungsten extraction alongside antimony. Recognizing tungsten at potentially economic grades increases the likelihood of additional metal credits, enhancing the project’s overall economic feasibility.
Morrison highlighted the growing strategic importance of antimony, a critical mineral used in military applications, semiconductors, solar panels, and as a fire retardant. As a Western source of antimony, Trigg Minerals aims to address supply chain disruptions caused by China's export ban on antimony products to the US, which has significantly increased global prices.

  • Brightstar Resources secures key mining approvals
Brightstar Resources Ltd (ASX:BTR) managing director Alex Rovira talked with Proactive’s Tylah Tully about the company’s latest developments at the Fish Underground Project.
The company has secured the necessary approvals, including the mining proposal and mine closure plan, allowing it to commence operations.
Rovira highlighted that infrastructure setup is already underway, with the first ore expected on the run pad by mid-June.
He emphasised that Brightstar will soon operate two underground mines in the Laverton District, feeding into its toll purchase agreement with Genesis Minerals.
“We are now a multi-mine underground operator, which is really exciting,” Rovira said.
He also noted that Brightstar remains debt-free, positioning it well for expansion.
Rovira outlined a 13-month mining timeline, with a portal cut scheduled for April.
The company is also conducting an exploration program in March to expand known resources at depth.
He pointed out that Fish’s development de-risks the company’s larger Lord Byron project, as infrastructure such as a 160-person camp and haul roads will be shared between sites.

  • Just the Facts: Riversgold mobilises RC drill rig for Kalgoorlie East Gold Project
Riversgold Ltd (ASX:RGL) has confirmed the mobilisation of an RC drill rig to its Northern Zone Project in the Kalgoorlie East Gold Project in WA.
The drilling will target the Northern Zone, a 600-metre-wide porphyry gold system.
The RC rig, sourced from Top Drill, is scheduled to arrive on-site this Friday to commence a 1,280-metre drilling program. Most drill holes are planned to reach depths of 100 to 120 metres.
The program aims to test areas beneath previous drill holes that ended in mineralisation and high-grade shallow intercepts.
Additionally, gamma logging will be conducted to obtain bulk density measurements for a mineral resource estimate.
Riversgold has also planned a separate 2,000-metre aircore drilling program later in March to investigate shallower mineralisation.
The company has now scheduled two drill rigs for the 2025 drill season at the Kalgoorlie East Gold Project, adding the RC rig to the program announced on February 13.
This additional RC rig will drill into the transition zone below the weathered oxide zone.
Riversgold has also submitted a Mining Lease application to the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety to convert the Northern Zone into a Mining Lease.
