  • Sunstone Metals discovers new gold-copper porphyry at Bramaderos
Sunstone Metals Ltd (ASX:STM) managing director Patrick Duffy joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss the new discovery of a new gold-copper porphyry, the Copete target, at the Bramaderos Project in southern Ecuador.
This discovery expands the mineralised area to a 2-kilometre by 1.8-kilometre cluster, supporting the potential for a large open-pit mining operation.
The Copete target complements an earlier porphyry exploration target estimate of 3.3-8.6 million ounces of gold equivalent, indicating room for an increase in the target.
Duffy says Copete is strategically located near the 2.7 million-ounce Brama-Alba resource and the Melonal exploration target, strengthening Bramaderos' potential as a world-class, long-term mining prospect.
Initial trench sampling at Copete has revealed substantial surface mineralisation, with one trench returning 113 metres at 0.64 g/t gold equivalent.
The Copete target features a 1.8-kilometre mineralised trend and shares characteristics with the Brama deposit, showing potential for higher-grade copper at depth.
Although largely unexplored, Copete’s magnetic and structural features suggest it represents an intact porphyry system.
Partnership discussions are underway with third parties to expedite exploration and resource growth for Bramaderos and Sunstone other Ecuador project, El Palmar.

  • International Graphite’s $4.5 million grant milestone in WA
International Graphite Ltd (ASX: IG6) managing director and CEO Andrew Worland talks with Proactive’s Tylah Tully about the company's progress following a $4.5 million grant from the Western Australian Government.
The grant is part of a $6.5 million funding initiative, primarily supporting the development of Australia’s first commercial graphite facility in Collie, WA.
Worland shared details on how the funding aligns with International Graphite's expansion strategy, starting with the construction of a 3,000-tonne production facility.
He explained, "This funding agreement is really the mechanism that fully funds our stage one development."
The state-backed initiative allows the company to continue developing its graphite production capacity, keeping shareholder dilution minimal and focusing on creating sustainable market entry points for battery anode materials.
Looking ahead, Worland noted that production could expand up to 10,000 tonnes annually, establishing International Graphite as a notable supplier outside of China.
He highlighted the support from the WA Government as "fantastic news for us" and outlined how this partnership mitigated risk and enabled steady project financing based on clear milestones.
Beyond Collie, the company is actively advancing its Springdale Project, which recently obtained a second mining lease, unlocking one of Australia's largest graphite resources.
