  • Bitcoin hits $75k amid new US administration: Insights from Bitwise Asset Management's Bradley Duke
Bitwise Asset Management European head Bradley Duke speaks with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the implications of the recent US election on Bitcoin and the broader crypto market. Duke explained how a Republican-led administration may positively influence crypto policies, with particular attention to new initiatives under discussion, including a potential Bitcoin reserve and increased mining support within the US. “The Republican presidency will usher in a period of friendliness toward Bitcoin and crypto in general,” Duke shared.
Duke discussed the recent spike in Bitcoin’s value, which reached $75,000 following election outcomes. He attributed this to a combination of policy shifts and ongoing market factors, including historically low exchange balances and heightened accumulation by long-term holders. Duke noted, “Low balances [on exchanges] are usually a bullish indicator,” highlighting a significant trend of investors moving Bitcoin to cold storage rather than selling.
In addition, Duke assessed the macroeconomic backdrop, including US debt levels and treasury yields, and their influence on Bitcoin’s appeal as a hedge against fiscal instability. He emphasised that Bitcoin’s decentralised nature makes it an attractive alternative amidst mounting concerns over national debt sustainability.

  • HANetf & The Royal Mint: innovative gold ETCs for eco-conscious investors
HANetf investment writer Jake Coulson talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about HANetf’s partnership with The Royal Mint to bring sustainability into the gold exchange-traded commodity (ETC) market.
Coulson highlighted the 2020 launch of The Royal Mint Responsibly Sourced Physical Gold ETC (RMAU), emphasising its distinctive features, such as being 100% physically backed by gold bars stored in The Royal Mint’s secure vault in Wales. He explained that the gold used in this ETC is responsibly sourced, meeting post-2019 standards and includes a growing portion of 100% recycled gold, which he noted is “around 90% less carbon intensive than mined gold.”
HANetf’s approach, according to Coulson, allows investors with sustainability priorities to diversify away from mined gold. This partnership with The Royal Mint ensures close control over the gold's provenance, including the ability to quickly remove Russian-origin bars following geopolitical events.
Coulson also introduced HANetf’s latest currency-hedged ETCs, available in sterling, euros and Swiss francs, offering investors more options to manage their currency exposure while holding LBMA-approved gold bars. These additions maintain the full transparency HANetf’s ETC investors expect, with an audited bar list always available on their website.

  • Touchstone CEO on new developments at Cascadura C field
Touchstone Exploration Inc (AIM:TXP, TSX:TXP, OTC:PBEGF) CEO Paul Baay takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through recent updates at the Cascadura C field and a new land package deal in Rio Claro, Trinidad. Baay emphasised that Touchstone's new drilling initiative, "drill to fill," marks the beginning of the push to utilise existing facilities fully. The two initial wells at Cascadura C pad are significant steps in developing the eastern edge of the Ortoire block, with testing directly linked to immediate revenue generation, thanks to integration with production lines.
Baay highlighted the strategic importance of the Rio Claro land acquisition, positioned adjacent to the Cascadura wells, as an expansion that supports long-term drilling and production. This addition allows Touchstone to extend the play, contributing both shallow and deeper drilling opportunities. According to Baay, these developments fit within Touchstone’s overall goal of resource optimization and increased output.
In terms of next steps, Baay pointed to two significant milestones: anticipated announcements of flow test results from the current wells by year-end, and the start of a sustained development drilling program at the Cascadura site. "The advantage now is we can drill both the Ortoire block and the Rio block," Baay shared, outlining the timeline for upcoming projects.

  • CleanTech Lithium’s Laguna Verde update: robust PFS in progress
CleanTech Lithium PLC (AIM:CTL, OTCQX:CTLHF) executive chairman Dr Steve Kesler talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s progress on its Laguna Verde Project, including an updated Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) aimed at attracting strategic investment partners. Kesler shared insights on various developments, such as a new configuration that divides the plant between Laguna Verde and Copiapó. This setup enables CleanTech Lithium to leverage local technical support and streamline operations for future projects, like Viento Andino.
Addressing renewable energy options, Kesler emphasised Laguna Verde’s unique positioning within a high irradiance zone, ideal for solar power. This could support self-generated energy through a combination of solar and wind, with battery storage as a potential backup. In addition, CleanTech Lithium is exploring electric truck options to reduce emissions in transporting materials between Laguna Verde and Copiapó, aligning with the company’s commitment to carbon neutrality.
Further updates included progress on drilling and hydrogeological modelling with Montgomery consultants, essential for enhancing resource understanding and planning for extraction wells.
CleanTech Lithium anticipates finalising the PFS in early 2025, aiming to present a robust study that could expedite the project’s advancement. As Kesler explained, “The better the information, then the more likely they will next step into the project.”

  • Deltic Energy's Selene project: CEO shares key insights
Deltic Energy PLC (AIM:DELT) CEO Andrew Nunn talked with Proactive about the company's recent success at its Selene gas prospect in the southern North Sea. Nunn shared that the drilling revealed higher-than-expected porosity and permeability in the reservoir, boosting the potential for simpler and more efficient development. “The results we’re seeing from the logging suggest that we’ve got much higher porosity and permeability than what we expected pre-drill,” he explained. This translates to better production rates and may mean fewer wells are required.
Shell, the operator of the Selene prospect, along with partner Dana, brings strong expertise to the project, which is expected to proceed with a straightforward and low-cost development plan. The Selene project offers significant potential, even with a slightly lower-than-anticipated recoverable resource of 131 billion cubic feet.
Nunn emphasised that the resource quality supports a "very commercial" project for the basin. Next steps involve post-well analysis, with the aim of reaching a field development investment decision in 18 months to two years. Nunn also hinted at Deltic Energy’s broader ambitions, with the company exploring international opportunities for expansion.
