  • Rainbow Rare Earths CEO reveals big upgrade to Phalaborwa resource and value
Rainbow Rare Earths Ltd (LSE:RBW, OTC:RBWRF) CEO George Bennett talked with Proactive about the company's updated JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate for the Phalaborwa project. The update extended the mine's life from 14 years to 16 years, with the resource increasing from 32 million tonnes to 35 million tonnes. Bennett emphasised the high confidence level of the resource, thanks to improvements in categorisation under JORC standards.
He explained that with a cut-off grade of 2.2%, the project will be able to process nearly all the resource, extracting maximum value. Furthermore, Bennett highlighted four critical rare earth elements—neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium—used in consumer electronics, electric vehicles, and wind turbines.
Bennett also underscored Rainbow Rare Earths' competitive advantage as a low-cost producer.
According to him, even in a lower pricing environment, the company expects profitability due to its efficient cost structure. He mentioned that the project’s in-situ rare earth oxide value stands at $3.7 billion, with recovery rates of 66%.
Looking ahead, Bennett noted that the company plans to release a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) by early 2025, with a preliminary update expected in November 2024. These milestones will offer further insights into the project's profitability and value potential.

  • Golden Arrow Resources reports significant copper and cobalt mineralization at San Pietro Project
Golden Arrow Resources Vice President of Exploration Brian McEwen joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share exciting news about the company’s ongoing drill program at the San Pietro Project.
The company is halfway through a 10,000-meter diamond drilling campaign and has reported additional long intervals of copper mineralization, with standout results from drill hole SP-DDH-22 in the Rincones target.
McEwen highlighted that drilling at the Colla target yielded impressive cobalt results, marking the best cobalt interval at the project to date. Drill hole SP-DDH-25 revealing a long interval of high cobalt mineralization starting near the surface, with 23.1 meters at 443 g/t cobalt from a depth of 24.9 meters, including 19.43 meters at 790 g/t cobalt and 32.6% iron.
He then noted that the drill program has demonstrated continuity of wide zones of mineralization between the north and south Rincones zones, in an area previously unexplored by historical drilling. This success bolsters the company’s confidence in the potential of the San Pietro Project for both copper and cobalt resources.

  • Silver North Resources: advancing targets at historic Keno Hill district
Silver North Resources CEO Jason Weber joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share news the company has announced the beginning of its 2024 drilling campaign at the Haldane Property, located in the historic Keno Hill Silver District in the Yukon.
Weber shared that the program will consist of approximately 1,000 meters of drilling across three key holes on the 8,579-hectare property, which lies 25 km west of Keno City and hosts multiple occurrences of silver-lead-zinc-bearing quartz siderite veins, similar to those found throughout the district.
He moved on to highlight that the drilling will focus on expanding high-grade silver mineralization at the West Fault, Main Fault, and Bighorn areas.
At the West Fault, previous drilling intersected notable results, including 3.14 meters averaging 1,351 g/t silver, 2.43% lead, and 2.91% zinc. The West Fault structure has been traced over 650 meters and is believed to extend up to 1.1km, merging with the 2.2km long main fault structure.
The drilling program will also target silver-bearing vein mineralization identified in the Bighorn Target's only drilled hole to date, with hopes of expanding on these promising early results.

  • Standard Uranium completes drilling at Sun Dog Project, targets high-grade uranium at Wishbone area
Standard Uranium Vice President of Exploration Sean Hillacre joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the successful completion of drilling activities at the company’s Sun Dog Uranium Project, located in northwestern Saskatchewan, Canada.
The program was specifically designed to test the newly identified Wishbone target area, where the company aims to discover high-grade, basement-hosted uranium deposits characteristic of the Athabasca Basin. Hillacre reported that a total of 1,593 meters were drilled across eight holes, with a focus on shallow, high-grade basement-hosted uranium mineralization at the Wishbone target.
Encouragingly, seven of the eight drill holes intersected intervals of anomalous radioactivity exceeding 300 counts per second (cps), reinforcing the company’s exploration model. The results offer promising proof of concept, and Standard Uranium is already planning additional geophysical surveys and further drilling to refine their targeting and move closer to a potential high-grade discovery in the area.

  • Hertz Energy acquires antimony property in Québec, prepares for exploration and winter drilling
Hertz Energy CEO Kal Malhi joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the company’s acquisition of the Harriman Antimony Property, consisting of 49 mineral claims located in Québec, Canada. This acquisition was made through an arm's length option agreement between prospector Glenn Griesbach and Canuck Lithium, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hertz Energy.
Malhi explained that the Harriman Property, situated in the Gaspé Region of Québec, is an exploration-stage antimony project with strategic advantages, including excellent road access, hydroelectric power, proximity to port facilities, and an available local workforce.
The property was defined through a detailed review of historical antimony and gold findings from Québec’s geoscientific database, SIGÉOM, and features four key antimony showings along a northeast-trending fault structure.
Among these, the Harriman-Sud showing stands out, with historical grab samples revealing an impressive 15.35% antimony content. Notably, the showing has seen limited exploration and no historical drilling.
Hertz Energy plans to initiate a ground surface exploration program in mid-September, with the goal of advancing the project towards a winter drilling campaign aimed at unlocking its full potential. He also explained the growing demand for antimony, driven by military needs, and the urgency for North American sources, given China’s export restrictions.

GoviEx Uranium Inc (TSX-V:GXU, OTCQX:GVXXF). head of corporate communications Isabel Vilela speaks with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's option to acquire a 51% interest in the Lundazi exploration license in Zambia.
Vilela discussed how this move strengthens GoviEx’s foothold in Zambia, where it is already progressing the Muntanga project. She emphasized the strategic and geological significance of the Lundazi area, highlighting its potential for uranium exploration, especially in the underexplored Karoo Supergroup, known for sandstone-hosted uranium deposits.
Vilela noted, "We have structured the transaction to minimize our risk, with a small initial outlay in the first year," which gives the company flexibility moving forward. GoviEx's positive relationship with the Zambian government and its thriving mining industry were also emphasized, adding confidence in the company's future in the region.
The company is also working toward the Muntanga project's feasibility study, which Vilela stated is on track to be published by year-end. She explained that once the feasibility study is completed, GoviEx will seek financing and aim to start production two years after construction begins.
