  • Elixir Energy makes final preparations for Daydream-2 gas flow testing
    Elixir Energy Ltd managing director Neil Young joins Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson to provide an update on the Daydream-2 program within its wholly-owned Grandis Project in Queensland’s Taroom Trough.
    The company is in the final stages of preparing for the stimulation and testing of the Daydream-2 well. The upcoming weekend will involve milling out the plug set above the Lorelle Sandstone, followed by immediate post-stimulation flow testing. Due to the depth and high pressure of the well, additional health, safety, and environmental (HSE) inspections have been conducted.
    A Coil Tubing Unit (CTU), recently imported from New Zealand, has been function tested in cooperation with a neighbouring operator and is ready for use. The wellhead manifold and “Christmas Tree” valves have been pressure tested and are fully functional. Over 815,000 pounds of proppant and micro-proppant are being transported to the site for the five remaining stimulation stages following the Lorelle flow test.
    A 32-person camp has been established at the wellsite to reduce driving risks. Elixir plans to announce the results of the Lorelle Sandstone test by the end of next week, with further stimulation to follow.

  • Sarytogan Graphite secures A$5M investment from EBRD for graphite project
    Sarytogan Graphite Ltd managing director Sean Gregory joins Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss a share subscription agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for a placement of A$5M.
    The EBRD, a multilateral bank promoting private sector development in 36 economies, has invested over €200 billion in more than 7100 projects, with 80% directed towards private companies.
    Gregory views the investment as an endorsement of Sarytogan’s governance and the quality of its graphite project in Kazakhstan.
    EBRD’s Director for Natural Resources, Natalia Lacorzana, highlighted the project’s potential to become a responsibly mined source of battery-grade graphite, supporting the transition to a green economy and the wider adoption of electric vehicles.
    The funds will advance the Sarytogan Graphite Project, with the pre-feasibility study expected to be complete by September. Sarytogan will also retain control over Ushtogan LLP until a definitive feasibility study is completed. The agreement includes a Project Support Agreement granting EBRD the right to nominate a director to Sarytogan’s board and requiring regular reporting on environmental and governance matters.

    The company completed seven scout slimline RC drill holes, targeting multi-element and multi-point soil and rock chip geochemical anomalies and historical workings. Six out of seven drill holes intersected copper-zinc-lead-silver skarn mineralisation while mapping and rock chip sampling returned significant copper, zinc and lead grades at Apsley, Belmore East and Red Hill prospects as well as the new Stewarts Prospect.
    Earner says the company is hoping to uncover a large VMS or skarn copper-gold system and multi-million ounce deposit like others in the region. The company is well-funded and says the Rockley program is not cash intensive.
    Alkane is planning further target generative exploration across the next 12 months. This includes mapping, rock chip sampling and soil sampling as well as additional scout drilling planned for Stewarts, Red Hill and Cow Flat South, along with testing ground EM plates generated at Belmore East and Red Hill South.
    Earner discussed Alkane’s recent share price movement after it experienced massive volumes of trade over the past seven days.

    The company has identified four new targets through an ongoing regional reconnaissance and exploration program. At the Oval Prospect, it has identified a new outcrop of mineralised gabbro in the South Zone. Exploration also revealed an expansion of the nickel-copper mineralised gabbro at the North Oval area, suggesting a significant northwest extension of primary mineralisation.
    A new copper-gold mineralisation style has also been discovered at Copper Ridge, 7 kilometres north of the Oval. This discovery features a 30-metre-wide by 400-metre-long zone of silicified, magnetite-altered andesite with significant disseminated chalcopyrite mineralisation. Assay results from rock chip sampling at Copper Ridge yielded maximum values of 0.29 ppm gold, 0.4% copper and over 15% iron.
    The company says the program, which included mapping, surface geophysical studies, and soil and rock sampling, has significantly advanced geological knowledge in the emerging copper and nickel exploration district.
    It has plans for detailed geophysical studies and scout drilling to identify new regional targets.

Keating provided an update on the progress at the demonstration plant site, where they are installing nine process module skids. Currently, seven out of the nine skids have been installed, which marks significant progress since the last update.
    "We're up to seven now, so that's five more than when we updated everyone before," said Keating. The plant is being built in reverse order, starting from the crystallisation section and moving towards the ore and milling sections. As the installation progresses, they are concurrently working on complex piping and instrumentation, aiming for early commissioning parts of the process.
    Keating also discussed the recent completion of an infill drilling program at K.Hill, aimed at converting indicated resources into the measured category for the first five years of production. This is a crucial step for de-risking the project and securing financing. "We've done about 3000 meters of drilling to ensure a measured resource for the initial project phase," Keating explained.
    Additionally, Giyani Metals has secured the surface rights to approximately 1,000 hectares of land, including rights to an adjacent solar farm. This milestone supports their commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of their operations.
    The company is targeting the commissioning of the demonstration plant in the fourth quarter of the year, with the team working tirelessly to meet this goal. Investors should keep an eye out for further updates on the demonstration plant and the progress on mining licenses.

    The company plans to raise up to $1.5 million to support the development of the project and to secure strategic development partners. It has received firm commitments to raise approximately $850,000 through a two-tranche placement, with plans to conduct a share purchase plan to raise up to an additional $650,000.
    Gas analysis conducted at Botala’s Serowe Coal Bed Methane Project showed a high methane content, with readings up to 94%. The analysis also detected iso-butane, which can enhance the gas's energy content. Impurities were found to be minimal, with low CO2 levels, trace amounts of hydrogen sulphide and no sulphur dioxide present.
    Gas desorption testing for the second phase has been completed, showing gas concentrations exceeding the target of 2.4cc/g, reaching up to 2.91cc/g. This phase will progress to a crush test, expected to further increase the desorption rate. The overall gas quality is predominantly methane with some iso-butane and low impurities, simplifying processing and reducing development costs.
    Martinick is impressed with the results that indicate a strong potential to surpass the target rate of 2.4cc/g used in previous resource certifications and feasibility studies, comparing favourably with commercial gas fields in Queensland. This progress is a positive indicator for the project's advancement towards development.
