  • Grayscale ETF Sees Blistering February Performance Amid Bitcoin Surge
Global Head of ETF for Grayscale David LaValle joined Steve Darling from Proactive to provide an optimistic update on the performance of the Grayscale Future of Finance ETF and the broader digital asset market. February witnessed a remarkable 20% performance across the index, significantly buoyed by the rise in Bitcoin prices.
LaValle told Proactive this surge is attributed to positive market reactions following the approval of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products in the US market, leading to increased investment inflows and broader access to Bitcoin for investors. Lavelle highlighted the significant correlation between certain segments of the Grayscale Future of Finance theme, particularly miners and digital asset infrastructure, with Bitcoin prices.
The launch of spot Bitcoin ETPs has not only boosted the performance of companies like Coinbase but also validated digital assets among a wider investor base. With the upcoming Bitcoin halving expected to reduce supply amidst growing demand, a bullish impact on Bitcoin's price is anticipated. Furthermore, the Grayscale Future of Finance ETF aims to offer investors an infrastructure play on the digital asset ecosystem, likening it to an investment in internet infrastructure during the early days of the dot-com era, thereby providing a thematic way to invest in the future of finance without speculating on specific digital currencies.

The company has recently completed its pre-feasibility study, signalling a move towards downstream production, which includes the production of pure copper, cobalt (99% purity), gold, indium, and a 96.5% magnetite product.
These products are crucial for the decarbonisation industry, marking a significant differentiator for Castile in producing end-user materials. The Rover One project is highlighted as a highly profitable operation with an NPV of 450 million Australian dollars and an IRR of approximately 46%. This small to medium-sized project is expected to generate between 225 to 250 million dollars of revenue annually, culminating in about 2 billion dollars over its eight-year lifespan.
The next steps for the company involve securing financing and a project partner to assist with funding. Hepburn emphasizes the importance of a 'Big Brother' partner, especially one that requires Castile's copper and cobalt, to ensure the project's success. Additionally, Castile is exploring other deposits near Rover One and has acquired exploration ground in Western Australia, indicating potential for lithium, niobium, and rare earth elements. Hepburn's tour, including his visit to the OTC Studios in New York City, underscores the significance of North American investors and mining companies in Castile's strategy, especially given the critical status of copper and cobalt in the USA.

  • Torr Metals releases hundreds more positive soil samples from 2023 program on the Kolos Project
Malcolm Dorsey, the CEO of Torr Metals, recently shared significant news with Steve Darling from Proactive to shed light on the release of a substantial batch of assay results stemming from the 2023 soil sampling initiative conducted on the Kolos Project, situated near Merritt, British Columbia. This latest revelation marks the emergence of an additional 857 assay results, supplementing the ongoing data analysis effort which has already amassed a total of 1753 soil samples. The scope of the sampling endeavor has expanded to cover a vast area spanning 17.4 square kilometers.
In his conversation with Proactive, Dorsey underscored the significance of the findings, particularly highlighting the presence of robust mineralized envelopes exhibiting copper concentrations surpassing 200 parts per million in the Kirby, Lodi, and Ace Zones. The newly acquired soil samples, encompassing a sizeable 4 km by 3.5 km expanse, boast impressive copper values, with 211 samples registering copper concentrations exceeding 100 ppm and 50 samples boasting levels ranging up to 761 ppm (as illustrated in Figure 1). Furthermore, a notable 154 samples unveiled gold concentrations exceeding 10 parts per billion (ppb), with 61 of these samples surpassing the 20 ppb mark and reaching a pinnacle of 725 ppb. These results paint a vivid picture of the extensive mineral wealth harbored within the Kolos Project, signaling the tantalizing prospect of a substantial multi-centred copper-gold porphyry discovery.
Dorsey further elaborated on the findings, revealing that the 2023 surficial exploration program has successfully identified extensive zones of copper-gold mineralization, strategically coinciding with highly magnetic anomalies akin to those observed in neighboring alkalic porphyry deposits. The ongoing interpretation efforts are meticulously scrutinizing geochemical pathfinder elements intricately associated with epithermal-porphyry deposits. This comprehensive analysis, bolstered by the ZTEM survey data, is poised to pave the way for precise drill targeting in the pursuit of unlocking the full potential of the Kolos Project.

  • Royal Helium's Leap from Exploration to Production: A 2023 Recap and 2024 Outlook
Royal Helium CEO Andrew Davidson joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share news the company has announce its initial set of development plans for 2024. With a focus on high grading the existing drilled fields in Saskatchewan, Royal's development efforts will be centred on the completion and testing of existing wells in the Val Marie, Ogema and Steveville properties and new drilling on the 40 Mile project in Alberta.
Davidson told Proactive the company's transition from exploration to actual production and cash flow in 2023, marking a significant milestone. The year was described as transformative for Royal Helium, positioning it from a junior resource entity to a cash-flowing operation.
Looking ahead to 2024, Davidson outlined an aggressive development plan focusing on expanding from one producing facility to multiple facilities. This includes hydrating existing wells to identify the most immediately accretive fields for subsequent production facilities, starting with the Val Murray field, which underwent drilling in 2020 and is now poised for further development. Additionally, the Obama field, where two wells were drilled in 2021, will be tested for high helium concentrations, with rights secured to test an upper zone. These activities are highlighted by their low-cost due to the existing drilled wells, offering a fast and economically efficient path to significant production facilities.
Furthermore, Davidson discussed the 40 Mile project in Alberta, a new drilling location acquired last year, notable for its historic drilling that indicated high helium concentrations and exceptional flow rates. This project represents a new drill initiative, but with the advantage of existing data supporting its potential.
Royal Helium's unique position, underscored by its status as the only Canadian public company currently producing helium, alongside a few private entities, provides it with a distinct competitive edge. The company benefits from cash flow generation, supporting its ambitious plans and operations. Davidson expressed optimism about the company's operational progress and growth prospects.

  • Rocket Fuel Payment Solutions CEO Discusses Crypto Regulation and Adoption Trends
RocketFuel Payment Solutions CEO Peter Jensen joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share insight into the current state of cryptocurrency, particularly focusing on regulatory aspects and their impact on adoption. Jensen highlighted the need for clearer regulations to define permissible activities within the crypto space. He pointed out that the lack of regulatory clarity, especially in the United States, prompts caution among banks and financial institutions, which can hinder transactions like international bank transfers. This caution, according to Jensen, inadvertently drives companies towards stablecoins for their stability and lack of volatility, thereby increasing awareness and adoption of this form of cryptocurrency.
Jensen also discussed the role of major companies, such as PayPal, in promoting stablecoins by introducing their own to hundreds of millions of users. This exposure demystifies cryptocurrency and showcases its practical benefits, such as cheaper and easier international money transfers. He differentiated between stablecoins, used primarily for transactions due to their stability, and other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are more investment-focused. The discussion also covered how cryptocurrencies are gaining momentum through new ETFs and investment advice, pushing their value up. Jensen argued that the adoption of new technologies like stablecoins is often accelerated by necessity, such as when traditional banking systems are unable to facilitate certain transactions. This necessity fosters a network effect, spreading the use of stablecoins through various business networks. Lastly, Jensen noted that regulatory environments significantly influence the adoption of stablecoins, with regions having more regulations and associated frictions driving companies towards these digital currencies for efficiency in transactions.

  • Tech Megatrend ETF Up 46% last year, expands beyond traditional IT
Anthony Ginsberg, CEO of GINSGLOBAL Index Fund joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the performance and strategy of their Tech Megatrend ETF in an interview.
The fund, which was up almost 46% last year, differentiates itself by equally weighting 120 holdings across 15 leading players in each of eight sub-themes, including cybersecurity, cloud computing, AI, robotics, blockchain, electric vehicles, gaming, and more. This approach makes it broader than traditional IT funds and covers a wide range of digital disruption areas.
Ginsberg highlighted the convergence across these themes, exemplified by Microsoft's acquisition of a major gaming company for $75 billion, viewing it as a move into the social media/online gaming space. The discussion also touched on the global nature of the tech megatrend, with 60% of the fund's focus being outside the U.S., showcasing its international appeal.
The importance of cybersecurity and cloud computing was emphasized, especially in the context of the work-from-home phenomenon and the growing online gaming sector, which have created strong demand for these technologies. Ginsberg noted the trend of on-shoring in the U.S., boosting the valuations of robotics companies, and the success of streaming services like Netflix.
Anticipating a lot of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity due to lower interest rates and companies sitting on significant cash reserves, Ginsberg pointed out that the fund's holdings are not overvalued, with a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio below 20. This indicates potential for value in the mid-cap, large-cap, and mega-cap spaces, despite some companies having run hard in terms of stock price increases.

  • FTSE finds early support from Ocada, British Airways owner IAG - Market Report
London's FTSE 100 recouped some of yesterday’s lost ground in early trades on another day stacked with results.
London’s blue-chip index was up 18 at 7,643 in the first hour led by Ocado and Glaxo spin-off Haleon.
Grocery delivery specialist Ocado posted an underlying profit as both sides of its business moved into the black, though the company still showed a hefty net loss overall.
Haleon said its first quarter this year had started slowly but eased the pain with a £500 million share buyback. Revenues and profits both rose in 2023 in what analysts described as a solid performance.
British Airways owner IAG made record profits in its 2023 trading year but this was largely expected and the shares eased lower.
London Stock Exchange Group meanwhile said it was seeing signs of IPO life in London again after a miserable twelve months for new listings.
