  • Tonix Pharmaceuticals drug TNX-102 SL gets FDA ok for US Department of Defence funded trial
Tonix Pharmaceuticals CEO Dr. Seth Lederman joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share significant news regarding the company's latest development: the clearance of the Investigational New Drug application by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the Phase 2 investigator-initiated OASIS trial. This trial aims to evaluate the efficacy of TNX-102 SL in reducing the severity of acute stress reaction and the frequency of acute stress disorder and post traumatic stress disorder.
Dr. Lederman explained that the trial is sponsored by The University of North Carolina Institute for Trauma Recovery and is supported by a substantial 3 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Defense. The primary objective of the trial is to assess the safety and efficacy of TNX-102 SL in mitigating adverse posttraumatic neuropsychiatric effects among patients who present to the emergency department following a motor vehicle collision.
The trial is expected to enroll approximately 180 trauma survivors across various emergency department study sites throughout the United States. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either TNX-102 SL 5.6 mg or a placebo for a two-week course. Notably, there is currently a lack of medication available at or near the point-of-care to effectively address the needs of patients suffering from traumatic events and support their long-term health.
This development underscores Tonix Pharmaceuticals' commitment to addressing unmet medical needs in the field of trauma recovery and psychiatric disorders. With the initiation of the OASIS trial, the company aims to contribute to the advancement of treatment options for individuals experiencing acute stress reactions and related neuropsychiatric sequelae following traumatic events. Stay tuned for further updates as the trial progresses and Tonix Pharmaceuticals continues its efforts to improve patient outcomes in this critical area of healthcare.

  • First Phosphate provides update on the work to complete its Purified Phosphoric Acid Plant in Quebec
First Phosphate Corp CEO John Passalacqua joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share details on the company's progress in developing a purified phosphoric acid (PPA) plant at the Port of Saguenay and its vision for establishing the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Region of Quebec as the North American lithium iron phosphate battery valley.
Passalacqua outlined the company's vision for creating an LFP battery ecosystem in the region during a talk to the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Region of Quebec. He highlighted that building a PPA plant and an LFP battery ecosystem for North America is a significant undertaking, and First Phosphate has taken several steps to realize this vision.
The company has completed its internal pre-feasibility study for the PPA plant and is evaluating engineering firms to potentially conduct a formal feasibility study. PPA production will be fully internalized and limited to the development of LFP cathode active material to avoid disrupting existing industries. First Phosphate has also developed a proprietary financial model for the future PPA facility and is open to sharing details with potential strategic partners.
Furthermore, the company has made progress on utilities in the region as it moves towards construction. These initiatives represent significant steps towards establishing the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Region as a hub for LFP battery production in North America.

  • Technology Minerals' Recyclus unveils 'milestone' lithium-ion EV battery recycling partnership
Technology Minerals PLC chairman Robin Brundle joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with details of a milestone partnership between subsidiary Recyclus Group and Sureservice Autocentres, marking a crucial step in their commitment to safe storage, logistics, and the recycling of EV batteries.
The collaboration leverages Recyclus' Wolverhampton facility for the end-of-life processing of lithium-ion batteries, ensuring they are not improperly stored or discarded. The deal with Slicker Recycling enhances its capability to collect hazardous waste from the automotive sector across the UK, utilising over 100 vehicles and nine depots, facilitating around 25,000 collections annually. This system supports the safe and timely collection of materials from both independent and franchise dealer networks.
Brundle highlighted the dangers associated with the improper storage of EV batteries, citing recent incidents of fires in dealerships and during transport, underscoring the need for secure transportation solutions like its custom-designed LiBoxes.
The process upon the batteries' arrival at the Wolverhampton facility involves thorough inspection, and processing of all five battery chemistries without water or landfill waste, and aims to achieve a sustainable circular economy.
Technology Minerals is also exploring ways to separate black mass to retain critical raw materials within the UK, indicating a broader vision for sustainable resource management. Brundle revealed that additional partnerships are in negotiation, promising more updates on their progress.

  • HANetf founder and co-CEO talks about new junior uranium miners ETF, Future of Defence and Bitcoin
HANetf founder and Co-CEO Hector McNeil joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with news that the company is launching the Sprott Junior Uranium Miners UCITS ETF under the ticker 'URNJ' on the London Stock Exchange and on the Deutsche Börse this Friday.
The ETF, which focuses on small and medium-sized uranium companies, is highly anticipated, having generated significant interest on social media. Sprott, the sponsor of this product in the US, has seen its version gather around $400 million in assets in less than a year.
McNeil explained the demand for this ETF is driven by a recognition of nuclear power's role in providing a consistent clean energy source and a supply squeeze exacerbated by the Russia-Ukraine conflict. URNM, HANetf's broader uranium miners product, was the top-performing thematic ETF in Europe last year with a 45% return.
McNeil also highlighted the Future of Defence UCITS ETF (NATO), which benefits from current geopolitical tensions. This ETF is unique as it includes companies affiliated with NATO members or affiliates, aiming to capitalize on increased defence spending commitments among NATO countries.
Also under the spotlight was the ETC Group Physical Bitcoin ETF (BTCE), the most traded crypto spot ETF in Europe, boasting $1.3 billion in assets. This product underscores the growing acceptance and demand for cryptocurrency investment options in Europe, despite scepticism surrounding the digital asset class.
McNeil told Proactive he recently attended the largest annual ETF conference in Miami Beach, which focused significantly on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency ETFs, reflecting the industry's evolution and its bullish outlook towards a future valued at $50 trillion in the next decade.

Fincraft, a privately-owned Kazakhstan holding company, focuses on investments both within Kazakhstan and internationally, boasting a diverse portfolio that includes mining companies such as Kaznickel, which holds large deposits of nickel and cobalt, and oil and gas production entities.
Fincraft Group has also ventured into refinery trading, education by owning private schools, and financial services, including ownership of a significant financial institute and a brokerage company.
