  • Volta Metals assay results from drilling at Falcon west shows high-grade Lithium Zones
Volta Metals CEO Kerem Usenmez joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the release of assay results from 11 drill holes completed during the inaugural drill program at the Falcon West Lithium Property, situated in northwestern Ontario, Canada. The assay results revealed the presence of near-surface spodumene-albite pegmatite-hosted lithium, cesium, and tantalum mineralization, with potential for expansion.
During the interview, Usenmez explained that the initial drilling was strategically designed to test the five spodumene-bearing pegmatites identified during Volta's 2023 exploration program, which covered a small section of the vast 13km² property. Remarkably, all 11 boreholes successfully intercepted mineralization in five known pegmatites, with hole FW23-07 encountering blind pegmatite from 47.4m to 59.1m, before concluding at 60.1m depth.
The success of the drilling campaign underscores the significant potential of the Falcon West Lithium Project. The data obtained will empower Volta's exploration team to enhance their understanding of the structural orientations of the pegmatites and refine drill-hole design for the upcoming 2024 exploration program. Furthermore, the high-grade lithium results, coupled with strongly anomalous cesium and tantalum, indicate the presence of a substantial LCT mineralized system within the Falcon West Project.
Currently, the company is in the final stages of finalizing its 2024 exploration program, which will encompass diamond drilling, mechanized trenching, and additional geochemical sampling. This comprehensive approach underscores Volta Metals' commitment to advancing exploration efforts and unlocking the full potential of the Falcon West Lithium Project.
In summary, the assay results from the inaugural drill program at Falcon West highlight the promising mineralization potential of the property. With a robust exploration strategy in place, Volta Metals is poised to further delineate and develop the project, positioning itself as a key player in the lithium exploration sector. Stay tuned for updates as the company progresses with its exploration activities and endeavors to unlock significant value for its stakeholders.

  • HANetf says Royal Mint Responsibly Sourced Physical Gold ETC now comprises over 50% recycled metal
HANetf head of research Tom Bailey tells Proactive's Stephen Gunnion the Royal Mint Responsibly Sourced Physical Gold ETC (exchange-traded commodity) has achieved a notable milestone in eco-friendly investment. Over 50% of the gold backing the ETC is now sourced from 100% recycled materials.
Bailey said this was the first gold ETC to incorporate recycled gold, appealing significantly to investors keen on sustainability and concerned about the environmental impact of gold mining. The introduction of recycled gold into the fund is a response to the growing demand for environmentally responsible investment options, as recycled gold is approximately 90% less carbon-intensive compared to mined gold.
The shift not only addresses the environmental concerns associated with gold mining's significant carbon footprint but also aligns with broader industry trends towards sustainability, evidenced by companies like Apple and Pandora transitioning towards the use of recycled gold. The move has been positively received, with the ETC experiencing strong asset under management (AUM) growth, indicating a clear preference among investors for more sustainable investment vehicles.
Bailed also discussed gold's appeal as a hedge against inflation and volatility in a diversified portfolio.
