Avicanna Inc CEO Aras Azadian joins Proactive's Stephen Gunnion on what he described as the "most transformational day" in the company's short seven-year history.
The company announced the closing of the acquisition Medical Cannabis by Shopper’s from Shoppers Drug Mart and launched its medical cannabis care platform, MyMedi.ca.
The new platform offers patients seamless continuation of care, allowing them to access medical cannabis products, pharmacist-led support programs, medical education, and insurance reimbursement services. The transition for existing patients from Shoppers Drug Mart to MyMedi has been almost seamless, with an impressive 96% patient retention rate.
Acadian noted that Avicanna's focus has always been on medical and pharmaceutical aspects of cannabinoids, and now with MyMedi, it has a direct connection to the medical community.
The platform offers a wide range of medical cannabis products, including Avicanna's proprietary brand, and plans to expand its product offerings based on patient needs.
The company prioritizes patient care and education, providing support from healthcare practitioners and pharmacist-led guidance to ensure better treatment outcomes, Acadian added. With this launch, Avicanna looks forward to further growth and expansion of MyMedi across Canada.
