Good morning from London, where the FTSE 100 has continued with its upward trajectory from last week. Fresh production cuts announced by OPEC over the weekend have put several dollars on the oil price this morning, lifting the value of UK-based energy companies.
Elsewhere in the City, shares in Guinness maker Diageo opened the day higher after the drinks giant announced that Debra Crew would temporarily step in as chief executive while Ivan Menezes receives hospital treatment.
Rio Tinto shares are also up, after Deutsche Bank upgraded the miner from a hold to a buy rating.
