The FTSE 100 opened lower this morning, with all but a select few companies losing ground.
Engineers Smiths Group (LSE:SMIN) was one of them, after it raised its guidance for 2023 because of record-growth so far.
Elsewhere BoE governor Andrew Bailey isn’t ruling out further interest rate hikes after yesterday’s rise to 4.25%.
Pub giant JD Wetherspoon is getting the weekend started early, reporting a £4.6mln profit in the half-year to January, compared to a £26.1mln loss in the same period last year.
And Europe’s largest tour operator Tui has launched a €1.8bn share sale ahead of the Easter travel season, as it looks to tackle its debts - which sat at €3.4bn in September.
That’s all for this morning and indeed for this week. Today’s report was written by Josh Lamb and presented by me, Thomas Warner.
