The FTSE 100 opened higher this morning, mostly supported by mining companies but also by Aston Martin, who have just reported a strong fourth quarter.
Building society Nationwide says house prices dropped by 1.1% on the year in February - the first year-on-year contraction since lockdown-afflicted June 2020. And housebuilder Persimmon has announced a 24% fall in pre-tax profit to £730.7mln last year.
Away from housing, Sainsbury’s is closing two major Argos distribution sites in the coming years as it looks to cut costs.
Pharma giant Reckitt Benckiser recorded a near 17% rise in operating profit to £3.44bn during 2022, and is confident its margins should hold this coming year.
And in small caps, entertainment firm Live Company rose 2% after what it considers a successful Formula E event in South Africa last weekend that generated £200,000k in revenue.
