The FTSE 100 has continued to trend lower this morning, weighed down by several of the heavyweights going ex-dividend.
Royal Mail chief executive Simon Thompson has now backtracked after claiming last month that he wasn’t using tracking data to pressure his posties into working faster. Thompson confirmed to the Business Select Committee that his postal workers were tracked and had speeds recorded after the committee hauled him in and forced him to swear an oath.
High-street lender Lloyds said its launching its share buyback today, a process that will be executed by UBS. The bank will be putting £2bn back into its shareholder's pockets.
Rolls-Royce has reported a 37% increase in profits for calendar year 2022, with the engineering giant predicting further advances in 2023 as the recovery in international travel continues.
And in small caps PYX Resources said it has received a ten-year extension to its Tisma mineral sands project in Kalimantan, Indonesia. The license now runs until July 2032.
