Traumatic memories can be complicated. Sometimes they surface slowly, and other times they come up in ways that feel overwhelming or confusing. It can be hard to know what’s safe, what’s real, and how to handle what you’re experiencing when something begins to come to the surface.
In Episode 016 of A Door of Hope, Kay and Kerry talk about what it can feel like when a memory is ready to be processed, and the many ways lost memories may return. They also talk about the importance of finding help and support along the way, reminding listeners that they don’t have to process these memories alone.
About the Hosts:
Kay Tolman and Kerry Hansher are both survivors of Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA). Beginning in childhood, the ritualistic trauma they endured led to a long and difficult journey toward healing, marked by struggles with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and dissociative identity disorder (DID). Through many years of walking in healing and restoration with the Lord, Kay and Kerry have found freedom—and now dedicate their lives to helping other survivors who have been ignored, shamed, or ridiculed. Using the freedom God has given them, they offer hope, understanding, and practical support to those navigating this deeply complex and often misunderstood trauma.
