Vasco Alexandre is a Copenhagen based filmmaker, with a broad range of set experience from different countries, who aspires to become a director. Born in 1993 in Lisbon, he worked as a freelance videographer in Portugal, directing branded content, mini-docs and music videos until 2016. His education experience includes bachelors in Film in London, Erasmus in Madrid and masters in directing in Edinburgh. While studying for his bachelor's in London, he wrote and directed a short film Yard Kings (2020) which was screened at many international film festivals and picked various prizes, including 2 Royal Television Society Awards. His recent directing credits include other short films and he’s currently trying to write a feature film. Eleanor Follows is a London-based senior VFX artist with more than a decade of experience in various disciplines but primarily specialising in modelling. Starting as a runner and doing minor tasks such as making coffee, working at reception and other things one wouldn’t expect, she worked her way up to collaborating on a whole range of big Hollywood films. Eleanor shares her experience of working in broadcasting companies, a range of different VFX houses and momentarily pivot into architecture. Being half-American, we discuss VFX in the US, her relationship with the country and potential plans for the future. Raid Matwi is a London based aspiring actor and a stuntman. Currently, he’s completing required disciplines to apply for a globally recognised certificate to join professional stuntmen. Having completed five out of six he’s going to apply soon to join the British register and become one of them. With his proficiency in different sports and activities, including karate, diving, racing and more, he’s already got experience working as a stuntman, extra and even minor acting roles. We discuss a deeper introduction to stunt work, the conditions to join the stunt association and his acting experience. Coming from Hungary, Raid shares his inspirational journey of moving to London with no prior sense of a direction until he got an idea that changed his life. Now, balancing his biggest passion, regular job, being a father and more, he continues to pursue his dream with a positive mindset. Alaa Alibrahim is a recent screenwriting postgraduate who focuses on scriptwriting and specializes in sound design. As a Syrian refugee, he moved to London a few years ago where he decided to pursue his passion for filmmaking. Jakub Holub is a freelance motion designer and animator with a background in filmmaking, directing campaigns, adverts, promo videos and more. Coming from central Europe, he studied film at university in London after which he successfully landed a job in a production company until he found out that freelancing is what he enjoys the most. After transitioning to freelancing, he’s been working in animation and motion graphics primarily using After Effects, and plans to establish himself in this area.
