We’re back from the summer vacation with an episode we recorded in person mid July! In this episode we talk about the things we don’t do, and those hard prioritisation discussions. Saying “No” is an important part of a PM’s job, but does “No” really mean “No” when you’re asked to do something really important?

This week we answer the question "What tips would you give a new PM after 1 week, 6 months and a year?" We talk about getting into the problem, starting developing strategy, mentoring and getting to know yourself and the role.
In today's episode Arvid and Rob start by getting into how they work day to day. Then they'll get into a way of working that they try to stick to which, together with collaboration partners, should reduce the risk for a PM to become a single point of failure.

We've made grand plans but this time we talk about when your product is on fire and you need to set plans aside. Communicate, put out the fire, and learn as much as you possibly can to never allow that particular thing to happen again - learn from your failures to strengthen your product, your team, and your organisation.

In today's episode we talk about how to go from problem to solution to execution. How do you build the best possible thing while pragmatically taking constraints into consideration?
Today's lesson:
The 'best' solution is the wrong solution if there is no pragmatic way to build it. Understand what the best solution looks like, and make clear what tradeoffs you must make for pragmatism. The reasons behind these tradeoffs are critical for product and engineering to align upon.

We get into taking your product plans and ideas into execution, and the team and partners that will help you achieve your goals.
This week's lesson: Every impactful team has a Product Manager, although they might not have that title. Somebody must regularly check in on what matters, validate or invalidate hypothesises, and monitor that impact is achieved. Otherwise direction erodes and the team eventually does the wrong things.

Today we discuss future aspirations, and planning the medium and long term for your product. Then we'll get into the importance of being adaptable.
Today's lesson:
Things can always change in a way that makes your roadmap obsolete or insignificant. Especially in our industry! Be adaptable and make the hard decision to abandon what is in progress to pivot to solving the right problem.

Hello World! We're Arvid and Rob, and in this first episode we'll start with a short story of how we got into product and as a first deep dive we'll talk about how to drive product adoption with an internal audience.
Today's lesson:
Nobody understands the value of your very important platform except you and your team. If they don’t get it, they won’t use it. Mandating and escalating only achieves the bare minimum adoption and might miss the impact. Make them believe and understand. Market, don’t mandate.
