Just days before attending Black Tech Week, I was unexpectedly terminated from my job. I had a choice: show up carrying a failure identity or remember the value God had already been building in me.

Have you ever done a favor for someone and then realized what the person really needs is to improve their skills or increase their capacity?  Or perhaps you've asked for a favor when in reality what you actually needed was to improve your skillset and/or increase your capacity.

Our guest on this episode is Jabari Wright. He is currently a technical recruiter at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, OH. We have a three-fold conversation centered around coaching and his experience in developing relationships with coaches. I had the opportunity of coaching him through his job search and writing a resume and we talk about it in this episode.

Have you ever felt like you completely failed? Either at your job, in your responsibilities, with your tasks, or something that you were assigned to do? Or have you ever felt like I am supposed to do this but in reality everything I do or everything I touch seems to be spoiled or turning out wrong? If you ever felt any of these then this episode is especially dedicated to you!

After chasing my dream job for 10 years, I got it. But, in just 6 months I failed to such a degree that I resigned from the position.

If we were to judge by the profiles and pages in social networks, we would say that very few or almost no one experiences failures. People tend to share their successes and they minimize, cover up or hide the low points of life. However, failure does not discriminate against anyone. At some point failure visits all us.

The important thing in our journey through life is to learn from our failures. Or better yet, we should learn to fail. Each failure has an associated lesson attached. If we meditate enough we will realize that failures are often our best teachers. Consequently, it is good and recommended to learn to have a healthy relationship with our mistakes and failures.

In this episode I share my biggest professional failure in order to encourage you. So regardless of your current or past situation, have faith that this too shall pass. The important thing is to get back up again (and again).

What opinions are you holding onto about racism? and what advise are you acting on? Is your bias towards action or staying passive? How likely are you to continue to deepen your understanding of the issue? 

The manner George Floyd's death marked a before and after in the fight against racism. Many people acted immediately. Some just did it because it was trendy at the moment. However, we must continuously reflect and examine ourselves whether we are acting based on trends or according to our convictions. 

In this episode we explore some of the ways to join the anti-racism movement for justice. But before determining how you can contribute to the fight against racism, there is a question that you must ask yourself. That question is: What is my purpose?

This is a new "normal" in terms of life after the pandemic. There are many unknowns we are dealing with. So many stressors we must learn to cope with.
