  • S.2 E.19 An Asian Invasion with Angie Hong
Wow, I had the tables turned on me this week! Angie Hong comes in full effect as we sit down and I thought I was going to interview her, but, man, she had some deep questions for me. So, we both named it the Asian Invasion of Profane Faith. We talk race, gender, Hip Hop, religion, Korean culture, and have a lot of fun all the way through it. Angie's amazing and I really had a good time letting her take over. In fact, it gets so good, my dogs even join in on the conversation...just wait, you'll see, or, rather, hear! Go on check this week out, you won't be disappointed.

  • S.2 E.18 Seminary While Black: Dominique Robinson Coleman - Profane Faith
Seminary while Black is a thing. A real thing. This week we go in, real deep. Let me say from the onset, I am not against institutions like Fuller Seminary. In fact, I have a lot of love for the school I graduated from. But, I am against the White Supremacy and White racism that places like Fuller have been rooted in for decades. And in love, we have to rebuke that in all forms. This week I bring on Dominique Robinson Coleman who's story is not a singularity, it is common. It is within that commonness that Dominique talks about her experience at a place like Fuller. Take a listen. And before you judge and try to object, I urge you to make sure you look over all the data and the issues students like Dominique are bringing up. Click on!

  • S.2 E.16 Rethinking Incarceration: Dominique Gilliard - Profane Faith
So, Kim and the don are up in the White House talking about prison reform. Wow. Ok. Well, let's talk with someone who has a bit more experience than them. Yeah. I said it...this week I have my man Rev. Dominique Gilliard on the show to talk about his new book and what prison reform really looks like from a PoC perspective. We go in. His new book, Rethinking Incarceration with IVP, digs deep and moves us past just simplistic solutions and empty promises. Get ready, this some heavy stuff...especially if you still think the people in prison are the "bad people" and have made decisions that got them there. Let's go!

  • S.2 E.15 Remembering Dr. James Hal Cone - Profane Faith
Dr. James Cone was legendary. He truly was. To create something like a Black Liberation Theology when there were very little Black theologians in the academy took not only guts, but, the power of God. Dr. Cone was a mentor to many and help create an ethos that is needed now more than ever. His legacy will live on. This weeks special edition has three perspectives on Dr. Cone. I have Dr. Velda Love, Dr. Andre Johnson, and Q Nellum on to memorialize Dr. Cone's legacy. This gon be a good one!
