The Second World War ended 80 years ago. The Holocaust, Adolf Hitler's genocide of Jewish people, Roma people and other minority groups on the basis of their race and religion, ended alongside it. Many survivors came to Canada, a country previously unwelcoming to Holocaust refugees. Join survivor Gershon Willinger as he shares his testimony of hope and life against all odds. His testimony reminds Canadians never to take freedoms for granted, and always fight to keep them, for ourselves and all others irrespective of race, religion, orientation or ability. Given the mature subject matter of this episode, it is recommended that parents listen with or before their younger children, to determine whether they are yet ready to handle the mature subject matter discussed.
