In this episode of Profitable Joyful Consulting, we explore the delicate balance between feminine and masculine energies in communication. Building on the previous two episodes in our series "The Feminine Advantage," we delve into how women can harness both energies to navigate emotionally-charged situations and achieve desired outcomes.
I’ll recount my experience with a group of millennial leaders and how, through strategic communication, they were able to present their ideas in a way that could be heard and acted upon by their more senior counterparts. This episode emphasizes the importance of empathy, curiosity, and preparation in effective communication, especially when the stakes are high.
Hear from my clients and colleague about their real-life experiences with communication challenges and successes. Leslie shares how embracing feminine attributes like empathy and creativity has leveled the playing field in her negotiations. Jennifer Frye discusses the power of directness tempered with curiosity and kindess. Kara Levy, a communications coach for C-suite executives, provides insights on influencing without power, focusing on empathy and relationship-building rather than simply winning arguments.
This episode is packed with actionable advice, including a coaching question, a journal prompt, and an affirmation to help you apply these principles in your work today.

Learn how to harness your unique feminine qualities for a more holistic approach to success.
“That is the feminine advantage. We get ahead by leaning into what makes us different from business as usual.”
Do you ever feel like the only way to get ahead in your business is to be a more masculine version of yourself? Maybe you find yourself downplaying your natural strengths because they don't fit the traditional business mold.
Welcome to episode one of The Feminine Advantage: An Empowering Series for Women Consultants. At this time in history, we're witnessing the rise of the feminine. How do we bring that into our businesses? In a classically masculine field like business, there's a tendency to bring a ton of masculine energy in. Too much, though, can create a toxic work environment like many of us experienced in corporate settings; overly competitive, scarcity minded, controlling. Conversely, too much feminine energy can lead to passivity, a stagnation and excessive emotionality. These are, of course, generalizations and in no relation to gender. There’s masculine and feminine in all of us!
This special six-part season addresses the challenges and opportunities for women consultants. There are huge opportunities available to women now because let’s face it, the old way isn’t working for us anymore. It’s time to do something new, and in the way only women can.
Today, I'll help you learn to spot the signs of energy imbalance between your masculine and feminine sides, and understand the negative impacts this imbalance can have on your health and your business. You’ll hear from other women consultants who will each share her one unique story of how they bring these energies into their business to achieve maximum personal and professional success.
Key Takeaways:
Samantha also offers practical tips for recognizing energy imbalances in your business, along with coaching questions and assignments to help you integrate these concepts into your work.

“Mindset is actually the greatest determiner of success, far more than skills or talents.”
If there is anyone who's done a 180 degree turn on mindset, from thinking it was total nonsense to thinking it's absolutely everything, it’s ME. I clearly remember the days I would think I don't have any limiting beliefs. Boy was I wrong. But the great news here is that it’s completely possible to change that. In fact, it’s imperative that you do. In my experience, mindset will get you further than skills or talents ever could. Mindset encompasses things like personal leadership and self-management, and your ability to get things done, resilience, belief in yourself, positivity, all kinds of things.
In preparing for today's episode, I went through dozens of past episodes, out of the 200 total, that are dedicated purely to mindset – dozens. So it was hard for me to select just a few of them, but these are the ones that I felt were the most essential listening on this topic. We're going to cover self-sabotage, productivity tips, getting what you want and making yourself happy. We’ll dive into the hermit archetype and what that means for your work, and we’ll wrap it up with uncovering shame around money, and two revelations that came up in my 200th episode.
