3441 Melvin Massey: (Drug Dealing, Crime, Ignoring truth and Good examples) Melvin was a product of a Christian family living in Detroit’s lower east side in the 1930s. He was arrested for looting during the city’s 1941 riots, but got off. Joining the Merchant Marines during World War II, he was eventually court-martialed for assault. He turned to a life of theft, robbery and drug dealing, but that landed him in jail. There he heard the Gospel and received Jesus. After his release, he became a preacher, founded a church and helped found a rescue mission.
