Because his mother was a Chinese immigrant raising her family in the US, Jim’s Asian features made him a target for bullying and prejudice. His search for understanding would take him into dangerous situations both at home and in foreign lands until he learned that there is only one way to successfully deal with racism and its harmful effects.
