3657 Amelia Walker (Alcoholism, Neglect, Evangelism) Amelia grew up in a chaotic home. Her mom was in and out of the hospital due to mental illness and alcoholism. When she was home, things between Amelia’s parents were volatile. When she was gone, Amelia struggled without her mom and feared rejection. Her father disappeared in his work and when Amelia went to college, he too, started drinking. This sent Amelia’s sister into a break down that Amelia tried to help her recover from. As a young woman, Amelia didn’t know what to do with her life or how to find meaning. She took a second job working night shifts at a restaurant. It was here that she met, Chris, a chef who loved God and soon grew to love Amelia, too. Through long work shifts, walks around the city, dates and trips to church, they grew to understand each other’s stories and Chris introduced Amelia to the life-changing love of Jesus.
