O tango is a musical style and a dance alongside. It has a binary musical form and a two by four time signature. The choreography is complex and the dancers' skills are celebrated by fans. According to Discépolo, "the tango is a sad thought that can be danced".
Its origin is found in the Rio de la Plata area, in South America, in the cities of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Tango music does not have a very clear origin. According to studies that do not have numerous documentation, tango descended from the habanera and was performed in the brothels of Buenos Aires and Montevideo, in the last two decades of the 19th century, with violin, flute and guitar. In this early period, it was danced by two men, hence the fact that their faces turned, not looking at each other. Then, in the 1910s, with success in Paris, he was accepted by the platinum aristocracy.
Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges stated that, given its characteristics, tango could only have been born in Montevideo or Buenos Aires. The bandoneón, which currently characterizes tango, arrived in the Rio da Prata region around 1900, in the suitcases of German immigrants.
