  • Insight for Living Daily Broadcast - A Page from Jesus’ Journal, Part 2
    Mark 1:29–39
Busy days rarely lead to quiet mornings. But after teaching crowds, casting out demons, and healing Peter’s mother-in-law, Jesus rose before sunrise and sought out a solitary place to pray.
From Mark 1:29–39, Pastor Chuck Swindoll draws three lessons from a single day in Jesus’ life. Compassion moves us toward real needs, humility keeps us gracious, and time alone with the Father keeps ambitions in check.
Follow Jesus’ example and carve out time alone with God. In the quiet, He supplies the perspective needed for the demands ahead!

  • A Word With You - Survivors To The Rescue - #10378

Each season in the U.S. seems to bring its beauty and its unique dangers. In the spring, think tornado, for example. In the summer and fall, some of us know what the word hurricane is all about. In the mountains in winter, it’s important to be aware that that season’s snowy beauty may also bring with it the danger of deadly avalanches. Every winter, we hear about some people who lose their lives as these massive chunks of snow suddenly break loose. But every once in a while, we hear about lives being saved. I remember a few years ago, the rescuers were there not long after an avalanche, and they immediately started digging for survivors. In minutes, they pulled out one skier who was not only grateful to be saved, but in remarkably good shape for what he had been through. And the news reported that after that man was rescued, he didn’t just head for a warm place to recover. He actually joined the rescuers, working side by side with them to save other lives. And they did!

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about “Survivors To The Rescue.”

A person is saved from a deadly situation and they instinctively go back to help save someone else. That’s exactly how lives are saved eternally. The rescued are supposed to turn around and be the rescuers. When they’re not, they make it out, but they leave others to perish. It’s not supposed to be that way.

If someone rescued you spiritually by telling you about Jesus Christ, then the eight words in our word for today from the Word of God are personal orders from God to you. Jude, verse 23, simply says, “Snatch others from the fire and save them.” The implication is that you got snatched from the fire, now go back and get someone else.

That was instinctive for Andrew the day he met Christ. The Bible says, “The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ … and he brought him to Jesus.”(John 1:41-42) And Simon, of course, became the great leader of the apostles, Simon Peter.

My guess is that when you first discovered the love of Jesus for yourself, you had that Andrew instinct. You may not have done the best job of explaining Jesus at that point, but you just knew that people you cared about had to have the same chance you had. That’s how the rescue work of Jesus has gone on for 2,000 years – rescued people become rescuers of others.

But as time has gone by, have you become content to just find a warm spiritual spot among other people who are already headed for heaven; you believe the beliefs and you live as if the reason you were rescued is to enjoy the fellowship of the others who’ve been rescued? No, you were rescued to rescue.

Oh, we have our excuses for our silence about our Savior. “I’m afraid, I’m inadequate, I’m imperfect, I don’t know enough, I might mess it up.” Well, look at who Jesus used to bring an entire Samaritan village to Him – a woman with the worst reputation in town, a woman who had just met Jesus, but she knew enough to say, “Come see a Man” (John 4:29). “Come on, check out Jesus.” If Christ could use her to be His ambassador to her tribe, He can surely use you to be His ambassador to yours. They’ll listen to you because you walk the same trail they do – much more than they might listen to some “professional rescuer” who comes from outside their world. You’re in their world with them.

Hundreds of people were rescued from the sinking Titanic by being in lifeboats. But those same people refused to turn those lifeboats around to rescue the people who were in the lifejackets in the water, even though a lot of lifeboats were half empty. And 328 people died because the people who had been rescued did nothing about the people who were dying all around them.

You’re in the lifeboat “Jesus.” Please, turn your lifeboat around and help pull some others to life.

  • Leading The Way Radio Podcast - Faith Fosters Forgiveness

Forgiveness isn't always easy—but Jesus commands it. In this powerful message, Dr. Michael Youssef teaches from Luke 17, where Christ warns against spiritual stumbling blocks and calls believers to confront sin with humility and forgive those who repent.

When Jesus commanded His disciples to forgive repeatedly, they responded, "Increase our faith." Why? Because true forgiveness requires more than human strength. It takes faith rooted in God's Word, prayer, and complete dependence on Jesus Christ.

Dr. Youssef reminds us that faith fosters forgiveness. When we trust God's power instead of our own, we can release bitterness, reject self-righteousness, and extend the mercy we have received.

    This episode calls you to:

    • Recognize spiritual traps and false teaching,
    • Confront sin with humility and Biblical Truth,
    • Forgive others without keeping score,
    • Ask God to increase your faith,
    • Overcome bitterness through prayer and surrender,
    • Show Christ's mercy while awaiting His return.

Forgiveness begins with faith. When Christ strengthens our hearts, we can forgive what once seemed impossible.

  • Faith & Finance - Rethinking Open Enrollment with Lauren Gajdek

It's almost time for health insurance open enrollment again. For many families, that means sorting through premiums, deductibles, coverage options, and rising healthcare costs. But what if you didn't have to wait for open enrollment to explore a different approach?

Traditional health insurance isn't the only option available to Christians. Health cost-sharing ministries offer an alternative rooted in biblical community, mutual support, and financial stewardship.

Lauren Gajdek, Senior Director of External Affairs at Christian Healthcare Ministries (CHM), joined us today to explain how this approach works and why more Christians are exploring it.

Why Healthcare Decisions Feel So Overwhelming

Choosing healthcare coverage can be one of a family's most stressful financial decisions. Between monthly premiums, out-of-pocket expenses, and uncertainty about future medical needs, it's easy to feel overwhelmed.

And those feelings are widespread. According to a recent survey from KFF, a healthcare policy research organization, Americans who enrolled in Marketplace coverage reported significant frustration with the process:

    • 63% said evaluating their options made them feel worried.
    • 52% said they felt angry.
    • 46% said they felt confused.

These numbers show how challenging it can be to navigate healthcare decisions, especially when families try to balance quality care with responsible financial stewardship. But as Lauren explained, Christians have another option.

What Is Christian Healthcare Ministries (CHM)?

Christian Healthcare Ministries (CHM) is the nation's longest-serving health cost-sharing ministry, having served Christians since 1981.

Unlike traditional insurance, CHM operates through a voluntary community of believers who contribute monthly to help share one another's eligible medical expenses.

Rather than paying premiums to an insurance company, members participate in a ministry designed around Christians helping Christians. This approach reflects the biblical principle in Galatians 6:2:

"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

Of course, CHM is not insurance, and it differs in important ways. Sharing is subject to the ministry's guidelines, and payment of medical expenses is not guaranteed. Members remain responsible for their medical bills. That's why it's essential to understand the program's eligibility requirements, limitations, and sharing process before joining.

Still, for many Christian families, health cost sharing provides an opportunity to approach healthcare expenses through the lens of faith and community.

You Don't Have to Wait for Open Enrollment

One of the most appealing distinctions between CHM and traditional health insurance is that CHM doesn't have a limited open enrollment period.

With conventional health insurance, individuals often must enroll or make changes during designated periods unless they experience a qualifying life event.

CHM operates differently. Because it isn't an insurance company, individuals and families can apply for membership year-round.

That flexibility means you don't have to make a rushed decision during the traditional open enrollment season. You can take time to explore your options, understand the guidelines, and determine whether health cost sharing fits your family's circumstances.

As Lauren explained, you don't have to limit your consideration of a different approach to healthcare to a particular time of year.
