In this episode, we dive into the numerous and wonderful programs at The Frick Pittsburgh during the "Kara Walker: Harper's Pictorial History of the Civil War (Annotated)" Exhibition.

Interim Director of Learning and Visitor Experience, Kelsie Paul, gives a preview of the programs, starting on March 1st. Opening the exhibition, there will be a special lecture with Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw, author of "Seeing the Unspeakable: The Art of Kara Walker". There will also be in-gallery talks with curator's about the exhibition, special creative activities, and light bites throughout the day.

On Wednesday, April 16th, and Wednesday, May 7th, there will be guided tours available in the evening. On April 24th, author Dr. Edda Fields-Black will be talking about her most recent book that explores the role of Harriet Tubman in the largest slave rebellion in U.S. History.

On May 1st, many of the guest labelists will be available to share their insights into Kara Walker's works in round-robin conversations. Kelsie talks about their Remake Learning Day on May 17th, that is an annual day of free artmaking, community programs, and includes a performance by Hill Dance Academy Theatre.

Kelsie also talks about her favorite piece in the exhibition, the same as Curator Dawn Brean; "Alabama Loyalists Greeting the Federal Gun-Boats".

She invites everyone to come experience the ground-breaking art of Kara Walker at The Frick Pittsburgh, and engage in their activities.
