Progressive Palaver

On the advice of one of our listeners, the Palaver go back into the Marillion catalog to look at the Less Is More album while also giving some attention to B'Sides Themselves and Remixatosis. While discussing Less Is More Joe and Ken contemplate the effect of Marillion revisiting these songs outside of the standard progrock band setup and whether or not the songs benefit from this different treatment. Later on we learn that Ken has remixaphobia and a plan to revisit Marillion at least once more...

Yes episodes coming soon!

"The mother of all mantras" - In this episode of Progressive Palaver Paul, Joe and Ken discuss Marillion's latest album FEAR in some detail. While diving deep into the music and lyrical imagery on the album, the group also takes time to discuss Paul's campaign to update Wikipedia, the issue of CD indexing and the size of Bill Bruford's sphere. Where does FEAR rank in all the Marillion albums? Listen and hear what the Palaver think.

Sometimes you just have to share. After finding himself on a long drive with a phone full of Marillion albums, Joe has some extra thoughts to share on Sounds That Can't Be Made and Marbles.

A true bonus episode. The Palaver managed to convene in person to have some dinner before one of the Yes featuring ARW shows in October. This bonus episode is a recording of the conversation during that dinner. Just something fun but definitely not our usual format.

The Palaver continues as Joe, Paul and Ken consider Marillion's Somewhere Else, Happiness is the Road, and Sounds That Can't Be Made. The group searches for common themes in this later portion of the Marillion catalog between where the band has been and where they are heading.

In this episode the group discusses the masterpiece of progressive rock that is Marillion's Marbles.

The third installment in the Special Concert Series of Progressive Palaver finds Paul and Joe discussing the Yes Featuring ARW show in Philadelphia from October 1. Much was talked about including the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts, Rick Wakeman's wardrobe, the simple majesty of Awaken and Rick's stand-up talents.

Joe and Paul discuss their second Yes featuring ARW show in as many nights. Topics include parking in Trenton, the ARW Fun Competition, Lee Pomeroy (with greatest apologies), Jon's joy in performing and Jon's chimes.

Tremendous apologies to Lee Pomeroy for this episode. In my defense I had had a VERY rough travel day to get to this show! :)

This first installment in the Special Concert Series sees Paul and Joe begin their journey to experience Yes featuring ARW in three cities on three consecutive nights. The group covers the show in Reading PA on Sept 29 complete with clips from the show.
