Jared has been designing and creating rings for several years now. It all started out as a romantic gift idea for Valentines day and unexpectedly became a majority of Jared's income. He comes from a construction family so working with the necessary machinery to produce his rings wasn't difficult for him to master. Because Jared spends so much time on the road, working remotely with his construction crew, he had to find a way to make his rings in hotel rooms without leaving a massive mess or disturbing other guests. He has trimmed down his gear to what he can easily carry on the road, which also minimises his space at home, which is also his office.

Jared's primary passion lies with wood rings, specifically bentwood rings. He has developed his own steam bending, inlaying, and finishing techniques to produce the sturdiest rings with intricate and unique designs.

In July 2018 I made a post on Instagram saying that I wanted to teach one-on-one classes with my listeners and readers, and I asked if anyone would be interested. On this week's episode of Project Freelance, I have a young photographer joining me. Her name is Nicole, and her user tag is @Kaoruphotography2019, and she reached out to me over Instagram about a photography project she had for a class in school. And since I have a lot of high schoolers that reach out to me about needing advice for their project, I figured that I might as well start with Nicole. I knew that I had to jump on board with this immediately, because I wish I had somebody there for me when I was stuck and had questions. A local to Kitchener, Ontario, videographer Phil Marques has always had an interest to combine his love for music and videography together!

Phil has three years of communications technology education and two years of stage production under his belt. He received a one year certificate for Media Foundations at Conestoga College, and a diploma for the two year Broadcast (TV) Program.

Phil has had the privilege of working with local artists such as Breaching Vista, Amberwood, The Red Factor, Red Handed Denial, Shae Dupuy and To The Trees. As well as big touring acts such as Texas In July, August Burns Red, Adam Gontier, One Bad Son, and Say Yes!

This week on Project Freelance, I have Rian Cunningham, a Toronto native who produces and writes music. Rian actually flew down to California to meet up with me so we could work on a musical endeavour together. Rian has been playing and producing music since he was in high school, which allowed him to make plenty of mistakes and learn from them. His first show was with his high school band and that show went so well that they were invited to play a festival shortly after. Rian has always jumped at every musical opportunity, whether it be behind the screen producing or jumping around on stage.

Let’s talk about the law of attraction. You see, when you figure out the secrets to success you will be unstoppable. Our problem, as humans, is that we get so in our heads about the possibility of rejection that we talk ourselves out of taking risks. Instead of convincing yourself not to step outside of your comfort zone, embrace the discomfort, love it, and conquer it, because once you do become comfortable being uncomfortable, your confidence will skyrocket, which will help you grow your business, and personal, relationships.
