Respect as a foundational value for Project Legacy is crucial, it lays the groundwork for positive and productive relationships. Respectful relationships build and prioritize the needs, voice, and experiences of young people. The perspective that respect should be expected is harmful. Respect should always be earned, particularly for young people, because it aligns with a more inclusive and empowering approach to youth work .
