Episode 2 is about what happens when you take something out of your life — and suddenly realise how much time it used to occupy.
For me, stopping drinking left a gap. At first, I filled it with the gym. That worked for a while, but eventually I needed something with more longevity.
So I started walking.
Nothing dramatic. No huge fitness plan. Just a couple of miles.
Those two miles gradually became three, then four, and eventually the five-mile loop I now walk most evenings.
In this episode, I talk about building fitness through consistency, finding a natural release instead of a chemical one, and how those ordinary evening walks eventually started paying off in the mountains.
I also look back at two photos taken around fourteen months apart on the Edale Skyline — and realise just how much can change when you keep turning up.
This isn't about telling anyone to stop drinking or become a hiker.
It's simply what worked for me.
The route grew. My fitness grew. And somewhere along the way, I did too.
