"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies to become like his glorious body." (Philippians 3:20-21b)

"For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philippians 3:18-20)

(Phil 1:22-24)
This may be one of the most important podcasts I've ever recorded. It certainly is the most transparent. Today, it is my goal to take you on a candid and revealing tour inside the vacillating heart of the Apostle Paul, and of my own. But though this may be a tour into a dark valley, I trust that you find that we will not get stuck in the misty depths, but we will emerge on the other side... and we will be transformed by the journey.

"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21)
As I write this, 2024 is half over. And do you know what the unrivaled highlight of this year has been for me? The answer might surprise you: it was the memorial service for my dear and precious mom. No, I was not happy to see her go. Far from it! It was a day of deep sadness and the most blubbery weeping that I have ever done in public. BUT, it was also a day of great celebration and joy. How could that be? How could a day of such bleakness be so triumphant? Only one reason: because for my mom, to live was Christ, and to die was gain. Her death was a great loss for me, but a glorious reunion for her -- a reunion that she had been looking forward to with all her heart. And it is a reunion that I am looking forward to as well.
And so did the Apostle Paul. Join me today as we ponder that together for a few moments...

Paul's letter to the Philippian church is one of the most…
The Project Philippians podcast is an audio commentary, a devotional guidebook, and a spiritual running coach.
My goal is to come alongside you and to take you verse by verse through this remarkable treasure trove. I aim, not so much to be a teacher, as to be an encourager -- a spiritual motivator -- coaxing you into deeper love for God and for His Word. My ultimate objective for this podcast is that it might be a "Master Class" on the book of Philippians: not so that we will master the book, but that it will master us.
