- I have a wonderful, unrealistic idea, and I am running with it.While I am not ready to make an announcement yet, I would like to talk to you about having the courage to dare to dream and reach forward, even in such uncertain times. In some ways, this is as much a pep talk for me as it is for you. Our capacity to dream of a future we want to see is vital for us to actually build that better future for ourselves and others. Will I succeed on my insane quest? Eventually, but if we don’t start, we can never finish. If you want to support the work that I do, you can join the project on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/cedorsettYouTube Channel= https://www.youtube.com/user/cedorsett/Site: https://www.projectshadow.comTwitter: https://twitter.com/cedorsettFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/projectshadowsite/---Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/projectshadow/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/projectshadow/support22 min
- Jojo Rabbit is a brilliant deconstruction of NationalismNothing in that title is a surprise to anyone who has already seen this movie. For me, the real power of this story is how it shows nationalism and all other isms of that type to be little more than cosplay for destructive ideas based on nothing real, important, or true at all.Let’s talk about Jojo Rabbit on today’s Project: Shadow.
- Creativity is a path through Darkness to the Other SideIt isn’t just writers and artist who have the the creative power to seek a path through the dark times to find safety on the other side. The secret of creativity is learning to cooperate with others to make something that is uniquely ours.Let’s talk about the power of Creativity on today’s Project: Shadow.
- Star Trek: Picard Broken Pieces answers as many questions as it asksAs has become my customary talking point about this series, there isn’t a lot to say without diving deep into spoilers.Broken Pieces was one of the most powerful episodes of the series so far, focusing on the internal drama not only between the characters, but within them as well. Rios is finally a full character in his own right and Jurati is on here way there. It did this without sacrificing the action of the story. One thing happened that is a big spoiler that will or at least should have a bigger impact on the story than anything that has happened so far.Let’s talk about Star Trek; Picard on today’s episode of Project: Shadow. If you want to support the work that I do, you can join the project on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/cedorsettYouTube Channel= https://www.youtube.com/user/cedorsett/Site: https://www.projectshadow.comTwitter: https://twitter.com/cedorsettFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/projectshadowsite/---Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/projectshadow/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/projectshadow/support24 min
- We need to talk about Living without Fear and PanicI don’t usually talk about events in the news. I feel like a lot of you listen to this show for information and an escape from your day to day life, but with everything going on with COVID-19, I feel like we need to talk about it.Don’t worry, I am not going to dig into stats and numbers that will surely change by the time you listen to this episode. What I want to talk about is how we live our lives in the midst of the fear and concern that fills our daily life.We can and will get through this, but when have to make it through without loosing who we are along the way. Let’s talk about living with Fear on today’s Project: Shadow. If you want to support the work that I do, you can join the project on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/cedorsettYouTube Channel= https://www.youtube.com/user/cedorsett/Site: https://www.projectshadow.comTwitter: https://twitter.com/cedorsettFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/projectshadowsite/---Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/projectshadow/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/projectshadow/support23 min
- A Writing update or How did I forget to mix in the darknessThe project that I have not nicknamed yet hit a development wall and I couldn’t figure out why… Then I realized that I forgot to add the Gothic elements I love to include in my work… It’s like making a loaf of bread without yeast. So, let’s talk about how we often sabotage our work through sheer forgetfulness.
- Altered Carbon season 2 and the weight of memoryI could talk a lot about the events of this season 2 of Altered Carbon, and I will if you want, but the most powerful element of this season is the question of who and what we are and what is the place and power of memory in that. From the beginning of the series, the show has posited the world that identity is the sum total of a person’s memories and experiences. This season asks the question of is there an intrinsic quality that makes someone who and what they are and if so what is is.If you want to support the work that I do, you can join the project on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/cedorsettYouTube Channel= https://www.youtube.com/user/cedorsett/Site: https://www.projectshadow.comTwitter: https://twitter.com/cedorsettFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/projectshadowsite/---Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/projectshadow/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/projectshadow/support23 min
About Project: Shadow
From the publisher's feed
We understand the world through stories we tell ourselves, those others tell us, and those that entertain us, seeing ourselves in them even when they don’t contain people like us.
My name is Charlie, and I write Scifi/fantasy as C. E. Dorsett. As a queer writer, I dive into the deep structure of the books, movies, and shows that we love, and would love to take you with me through our fandoms and the works I create. We will dive into these worlds to reveal unseen wonder, discuss theories, and contemplate the elements of good writing. If you have any questions or topics, share them with me.
