With the release of the so-called Green New Deal yesterday, we need only look to the economic disaster now facing Germany to see what such anti-growth green economic policies have wrought. Joining us from Germany is Reiner Apel, EIR German Correspondent, to describe the situation on the ground, where the Yellow Vest protests have now begun to emerge in Germany and continue to occur in France. Hitler, after all, dispensed with all institutions of government but claimed he was democratic by presenting questions directly to the public in plebiscites.

In light of President Donald Trump's call for an R&D program for spaced-based anti-missile defense systems based on new technologies, it is important to recall that, with the fall of the Soviet Union, Russia and the U.S. had serious preliminary discussions on collaboration on such research, not only for strategic defense, but also — and more importantly, for a future world at peace — for the Strategic Defense of Earth against the very real threat of asteroids hitting the Earth. This proposal was revived by Russia in 2011, and is key to creating a new win-win strategic dynamic today.

Is the nation-state a historical accident, or a useful discovery, akin to a technology? Prior to the sound barrier being broken there were numerous attempts by those not understanding the physical principles of supersonic flight. It was observed that as the barrier was approached incredible turbulence occurred, such that planes simply were shorn of their wings and crashed to the ground. Such was the conclusion of sense certainty. Discovery of the actual physical principles involved, the fact that a cone formed around the plane of increasingly compressed air, which was responsible for the turbulence, finally led to redesign of the aircraft which minimized the result of the turbulence caused by the cone. Now, escape into the calm air at supersonic speeds, became possible although the calm air which had always surrounded the cone.

LaRouche holds that, in order to understand the anti-entropic nature of the human mind, and its ability to develop new concepts granting us increased power to shape and understand nature, we should look to the central role of Johannes Kepler, the first modern scientist. Kepler created science by ending Aristotle's centuries-long suppression of knowledge, and by venturing beyond mathematics into the domain causes.

Similarly, LaRouche maintains, Kepler's discoveries are key to understanding economic cycles as the result of dynamics, the result of physical causes. This is in opposition to the failed and unfortunately widespread approach that looks at financial numbers and tries to build up a model based on them.
