On November 8, 2017, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Beijing, their first face-to-face meeting since their April 2017 summit in Mar-e-Lago, Florida. As German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in a speech he gave in Singapore last week: "We should look through a telescope into the future..."
