KVI's John Carlson interviews former King County deputy prosecutor and current Federal Way mayor, Jim Ferrell, about the latest troubles for the King County Prosecutor's juvenile division regarding what's called the 'restorative justice program' of diversion. Ferrell says the organizations within the juvenile division have zero accountability. Ferrell ran for King County Prosecutor last fall but was defeated by Leesa Manion. Ferrell says the restorative justice/diversion failures are "deeply troubling" because cases and defendants revolve around violent crime i.e. armed robbery. Ferrell concludes, its a "betrayal of the public" for these claims of juvenile restorative justice to not deliver what was promised to the community.
