Propensities

Listen Later

Propensities are inclinations

Both, up and down the slope,

Like candles in the breezy winds

Aflame with ardent hope.

Desires, always a little different

So are the inclines therein,

Rights and Wrongs are mostly Grey

The line between is rather thin.

A cuppa for me, the goblet for you

What’s in them is all between us,

The paths we tread known only to a few

Limousine or the simple bus.

They both get us there in good time, no doubt

We are inclined to take care of things,

Intangible and the tangible, both

Propensity, handles the strings.

Hope you get what I’m getting at

The English language notwithstanding,

If I get what I’m getting at, then

You, my friends, will be left standing.

You see what I mean when I speak of the English

I’m referring to the language, of course,

It’s all so confusing, so horribly demanding

At Ascot, you might well find a cot on the horse.

So much for the “lingo”, the people are nice

As people are everywhere,

The nose and the lips, ears and eyes

I , for one, really don’t care

‘Cause, its all down to Propensity you see

If you do not have the Genes, go shopping,

Ride your plane or walk the mile

For Pete’s sake, have the propensity to Smile.
