Former Batley Bulldogs head coach John Kear has been voted YSPOTY coach of the year 2016.

The 62 year old beat off competition from Hull FC coach Lee Radford and former Yorkshire cricket boss Jason Gillespie to take the crown.

Kear, who has joined Wakefield Trinity as their head of rugby, helped the part-time Bulldogs finish 3rd in the Championship last year.
