We have Eric Cregger from Tax Assessments. Eric is a Tax Assessor for Buncombe County. All property owners will have a new assessed value that will be effective for January 2026.
Three things we want people to know-property values have been rising steadily since 2021-most property owners will see a higher value-all property owners will receive their new notice of value in the mail starting in mid-February
Assessment does not equal taxes- your assessed value is only part of the equation(tax rates will be set by elected officials in June)
Everyone has the right to appeal if they don’t agree
