Russell Jervis and Russell Quirk take Ev back to her Glasgow roots, her first job in nursing which she left because she was told she talked too much, and her role and challenges as a single mum. The truly compelling part of Ev's story is the moment she realised she had just 4 pence in her bank account and couldn't feed her kids or put petrol in her car to go to work.

But she shrugged that off and now runs a whole country (sort of).
