  • Part 4; The Day that the Lord Hath Made
In Part 4 of "The Day That the Lord Hath Made," Pastor J. Dale Massengale continues examining the prophetic message of Psalm 118 and God's appointed work through the Lord Jesus Christ. The message focuses on Christ as the stone rejected by the builders but chosen and exalted by God as the head stone of the corner. What men rejected, the Lord established as the only sure foundation for salvation. The day described in Psalm 118 is therefore connected with the Lord's marvelous work in the death, resurrection, and exaltation of Christ. The sermon calls the listener to recognize what God has done, receive Christ rather than reject Him, and rejoice in the salvation that is entirely "the LORD'S doing." It emphasizes that God's purpose cannot be defeated by man's unbelief and that every person's relationship to the cornerstone determines his spiritual standing before God. Primary text: Psalm 118:22–24. Supporting passages: Matthew 21:42–44; Acts 4:10–12; 1 Peter 2:4–8.

  • When Experience Becomes Authority: Why Scripture Must Remain Supreme
Personal experiences can be powerful, emotional, and convincing, but they are not infallible. Only the Word of God is. In this episode of Contending for the Word, Dave Jenkins examines what happens when personal experiences, spiritual impressions, prophecy claims, and supposed fresh revelation begin carrying more authority than Scripture. Dave distinguishes genuine Christian experience from experience-centered Christianity and explains how doctrinal drift develops when believers interpret Scripture through their experiences rather than evaluating their experiences through Scripture. The episode also considers modern prophecy culture, charismatic drift, the attraction of extraordinary spiritual experiences, and the stability God provides through His Word, prayer, the local church, biblical discipleship, and the ordinary means of grace. The church does not need more spiritual novelty or speculation. Christians need to know God's Word, love His truth, remain committed to the local church, and rest in the sufficiency of Jesus Christ. • Staying Safe in a Violent Culture
One of the characteristics of our culture today is that of violence. All over our nation and the world, many have been impacted by mass shootings, knifings, physical assault and sexual assault, car jackings, teen takeovers and domestic violence. Amidst such times it behooves us to be alert. It's not about being fearful as we go out the door each day, but are there precautions you can take to stay safe or to induce a climate of safety? How should we respond in such times? Returning to Crosstalk to discuss this issue was Dr. Richard Schmidt. Dr. Schmidt is pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church, and founder of Prophecy Focus Ministries. He's the speaker on the weekly TV program, Prophecy Focus and the radio broadcast, Prophecy Unfolding. He is an author of several books primarily related to Bible prophecy. He spent 32 years in law enforcement including that of acting sheriff of Milwaukee County until his retirement. The broadcast began with Dr. Schmidt citing some astounding statistics. 7,618 homicides have taken place in America just since January. The injury total from these homicides 14,245. Up until yesterday there have been 278 mass shootings based on four or more people having been injured or killed. Keep in mind, this is just gun violence as we must remember that violence also takes place in numerous other ways as well. So when it comes to violence, in addition to the categories already listed, are there any special precautions that women should take? What about church gatherings, active shooters or road rage? • Here’s Your Sign!
The sermon challenges the modern church's reliance on entertainment, technology, and strategic tactics for effective ministry, arguing instead that true effectiveness comes from faithful proclamation of the gospel. Drawing primarily from Luke 11, the speaker identifies a 'wicked generation' characterized by sign-seekers who demand proof despite ample evidence, contrasting them with those who respond to simple preaching with repentance. The central theme is that the 'sign of Jonah' represents the call to faith and repentance through the Word, which alone has the power to convict and save. By referencing the Queen of Sheba and the men of Nineveh, the text illustrates how even Gentiles responded to God's wisdom and prophecy, condemning those who reject Christ despite greater revelation. The message concludes with a call to abandon worldly methods and recommit to the simple, sufficient task of presenting the truth of the gospel for personal evangelism and church ministry.

  • Lessons from Babylon: The Little Horn
What is represented by the little horn in Daniel's vision? This sermon explores the prophecy of the fourth beast and the little horn in Daniel chapter seven, identifying these figures as manifestations of real demonic evil and the Antichrist. The preacher emphasizes that while the specific historical identity of this power remains debated, the text confirms that evil is a tangible force opposing God's people. By connecting this passage to New Testament teachings, the message highlights the ultimate defeat of all satanic powers through Jesus Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection. The central theme urges believers to recognize the reality of spiritual warfare without fear, finding confidence in Christ's established kingdom. Ultimately, the sermon calls for faithful living and active resistance against evil, anchored in the assurance of eternal victory.
