What is grace—and what does it actually mean to be saved? In 1 Peter 1:3–12, Peter points us to the great mercy of God and the living hope we have through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Biblical grace is not God simply helping us become better people. Grace is God rescuing guilty, helpless sinners through Jesus Christ. In this message, we examine what God's grace accomplishes in the life of the believer: new birth, justification, redemption, adoption, sanctification, and glorification**. Our salvation rests not on our merit, religious performance, or ability to make ourselves acceptable to God, but entirely on the finished work and righteousness of Jesus Christ. The prophets searched and waited for the salvation that has now been revealed in Christ. The sufferings of Christ were not an accident—they were God's promised plan of redemption, foretold throughout Scripture and fulfilled at the cross. We also consider three warnings for Christians living in a culture that increasingly calls bondage "freedom": • Stop calling your bondage freedom. • Stop building your identity on yourself—find your identity in Jesus Christ. • Do not waste the mercy God has given you. If you have been searching for something deeper than religion, struggling with sin, questioning your identity, or wondering what it truly means to be saved, this message points you away from yourself and toward Jesus Christ alone. Grace does not tell us that our sin is acceptable. Grace opens our eyes to see our sin and turns our hearts to the Savior. Flee to Jesus Christ. Trust in His finished work. Rejoice in His grace and mercy. 🌐Connect with us: https://cornerstonepresbyterian.church
