Proposal Stories

Sara and Ryan’s proposal story is one for the books—and the bubblegum machines. In this episode, we talk to the fun-loving couple about their long journey from college crush to creative proposal, and how Ryan turned a long-running inside joke into an unforgettable engagement moment. With a cast of supportive families, a sentimental pub, and one very convincing toy capsule, their story is full of laughter, love, and a few well-earned tears.

In This Episode:

• 🧃 The party where it all began (featuring OG Four Lokos)
• 💻 Why Sara credits her mom's computer club for this connection
• 👑 Sara’s love for Princess Day at Bisons games
• 💍 The multi-year wait—and why it was worth every second
• 🧠 Ryan’s thoughtful and slightly risky proposal plan
• 🎶 The inappropriate wedding song that wasn’t (but really made the moment)
• 🥹 Why Elton John basically played their post-wedding party

Rapid Fire Fun:

• Who said "I love you" first?
• Their first dance song (hint: Bright Eyes gets the spotlight)
• Dream honeymoon location… and why they’d still go back to St. Lucia

In this very first episode of Proposal Stories, Samantha and Scott share their own "yes" moment—complete with a ring that wasn’t meant to be, a proposal plan that never came to life, and a last-minute Christmas Eve twist that sealed the deal.

You’ll hear how things didn’t exactly go according to plan (do they ever?), but somehow, the moment turned out to be perfect anyway. It's heartfelt, a little chaotic, and totally them—a fitting kickoff for a podcast all about love, surprises, and stories worth telling.

Come along as we set the stage for the stories to come—starting with our own.
