  • Looking Out for One Another with Brother Stewart Clark

In this special episode I catch up with our Depute Provincial Grand Master brother Stewart Clark to talk about a subject he is passionate about - his role as Prostate Champion for the Provincial Grand Lodge of the Scottish Borders.

This role is a legacy of the long term relationship between the Grand Lodge of Scotland and Prostate Scotland. Stewart is committed to spreading the word about prostate cancer and in doing so helping save lives. You'll enjoy our catch up, recorded after our recent Communication held in the premises of Lodge St. Ronan's 856.

  • Talk and Roll

Prov Pod returns after a summer break, with a special episode recorded in the premises of Lodge St. John Selkirk 32. The Province kicked off the Masonic season with a new event - 'Talk and Roll', bringing members, friends and family together for a breakfast roll, guest speaker and an informal chance to catch up after the summer. The first speaker was Brother Carl Surgey of The Widows Sons (East) - a Masonic motorcycle association. Join us on this podcast as we chat to Carl, as well as the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master James Thom on the thinking behind this new event, plus Provincial Grand Junior Chaplain and Right Worshipful Master of Selkirk 32 Brother Brian Dodds. Brian's excellent business 'Baguette and Go' kindly sponsored the event, allowing all proceeds to be donated to The Widows Sons East for their charitable endeavours. Thanks to Brian and his business who you can find in Melrose and Galashiels.

Enjoy this informal episode as we kick off the new Masonic season, and the new run of episodes for Prov Pod - The Official Podcast of The Provincial Grand Lodge of The Scottish Borders.

  • The Province in Summer

This special summer bulletin of Prov Pod kicks off June by taking you across the Scottish Borders as the Province steps into festival season. Although summer is traditionally a quieter time for Freemasonry, our lodges and members are out and about - supporting town celebrations, joining agricultural shows and honouring the memory of notable Brethren. This episode offers a warm, bite sized way to get dates for the summer diary as well as insight into Freemasonry’s place in Borders life during the sunny months.

Happy summer from the Provincial Grand Lodge of the Scottish Borders :)

  • The Cleikum Ceremonies

In this episode of Prov Pod we are in Innerleithen where each July Lodge St. Ronan's, a daughter lodge of The Provincial Grand Lodge of The Scottish Borders, plays an important part in the town's one of a kind Cleikum Ceremonies.

Join host Stewart as he tells the story of St. Ronan's and five men who helped shape the Masonic ceremony - Freemasons Sir Walter Scott, James Hogg, George Hope Tait & Jimmy Mercer as well as Operative Master Mason Robert Mathison Esq.

We also hear from 856's Almoner and Past Master Norman Donald as he reflects on the 2001 Masonic ceremony, where the centenary of the Cleikum was celebrated and he was in the Chair. With archive clips and a few funny moments along the way we hope you enjoy the story of this special event in our Province and invite any Mason of good standing to join us in Innerleithen on Friday 17 July at 9pm to take part.
