The father, in these addresses, is desiring his son to be wed to Wisdom, not be wed to wickedness and foolishness.

The Lord's Word presents itself to us as foolishness, but in reality it is wisdom.

God's wisdom always presents itself to the fallen human mind as foolishness, yet it must be believed. Only after believing it can God's Word be perceived to be true.

In contrast, wickedness always presents itself initially as being wise, shrewd, and pragmatic.

Only later on, as wickedness bears its fruit, does one realize what it truly is.

God desires all to believe His Word.
