Wisdom for the journey. What do these words from Proverbs 15 speak to us today? They remind us that the Lord sees and knows all; he keeps watch not only over the good, but over the evil too. We are not hidden from him. Every word we speak, every motive of our heart is open before him. These words of wisdom call us to gentleness and humility—to let our words be a tree of life, bringing encouragement and truth, rather than crushing the spirit. And when correction comes, Proverbs urges us to embrace it, to learn from it, and to grow wise, for only the fool rejects discipline.

There's a clear path laid out here—a path where godliness leads to treasure, where upright living leads to wide-open highways and joy in the home. It's a life where we hunger for knowledge, feast on good advice, and surround ourselves with many counselors. Where fitting words and cheerful looks bring joy and health. It's not always the path of wealth or ease—sometimes it's a bowl of vegetables shared in love rather than steak served with hatred and strife—but it's the path God delights in. It's the way of peace, integrity, and honest hearts.
