「Do not look on the wine when it is red,

　When it sparkles in the cup,

　When it swirls around smoothly;」　Amen.

There is a weakness in the temptation from the opposite sex and alcohol. Another translation of this verse puts it this way. It says, “The wine glows red and winks at you.” And it concludes, “Do not look at it when it winks at you.“ A “little bit” can cause great damage to oneself, one's family, and many others. We need to have the courage not to look.

　May we look up to the Lord alone today....
