Proverbs and Pistols

For decades, Khaled Elmasri built strong bodies and strong teams. Then he came to faith and saw what he'd never trained.

In Episode 0, Khaled tells his story: moving to Texas, how pride crept into the work he loved, the hard season that followed, and the day his car broke down in a church parking lot. Then he lays out the question behind the show, how every episode works, and this week's drill.

"But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day." (Proverbs 4:18, KJV)

This week's drill: the Count-On-Me List. Write down the names of the people who count on you, family first. Next to each name, write one thing you want to be ready for. Pray over that list once a day this week. Then pick one name and do one thing for that person before Sunday.

Next: Episode 1 with Ben Ludwig on Proverbs 1:7, out Nov 4.

Khaled is not a pastor. This show is one man learning out loud. Check what you hear against Scripture.

Get humble. Get taught. Get ready.

I've spent my whole career building strong bodies and strong teams. But I'm a new Christian, and I'm learning out loud what it takes to be ready where it counts most.

Proverbs & Pistols is a show about faith, wisdom, preparedness, and responsibility. Every episode asks one question: what does it look like for a man to be prepared spiritually, mentally, physically, and practically to lead and protect the people God has entrusted to him?

One proverb. Real conversations with men further down the road. And the Drill: one practical thing to do with your family that week.

Episode 1 drops soon. Follow the show, and get the Weekly Drill at proverbsandpistols.com.
