Proverbs Chapter 24 (NLT)
Scripture Reading (0:00–3:29):
A full reading of Proverbs chapter 24 from the New Living Translation.
Special thanks to Renata Sanchez for providing today’s Scripture reading.
Reflection Questions (3:30–5:49):
Key Scripture 1 — Proverbs 24:10
“If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.”
Question: God, how do I respond whenever I’m under pressure? How can I continue to reflect your peace and your love, even when anxieties run high?
Key Scripture 2 — Proverbs 24:19–20
“Don’t fret because of evildoers… for evil people have no future; the light of the wicked will be snuffed out.”
Question: God, considering all the things that are wrong in the world right now, how can I continue to grow in having peace with the fact that maybe not today—maybe not even soon—but one day you will make all things right?
Prayer (5:50–7:15):
From the Book of Common Prayer:
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is discord, union; where there is error, truth; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may seek not so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.”
